I have never bought the excuse she's some powerless poor female. I don't think she sets the direction of the show but I don't believe Wendy Riche did either. What Wendy did have was the power to have stories pulled, changed, altered, if she wasn't happy. I do think JFP works more collaboratively with Guza but it doesn't mean she doesn't have power. Just a reason IMO to absolve JFP for all the problems that exist on that show and IMO she's worse to the women there than a male EP would be.

In the SON myth, everything at GH is Guza or Frons' fault. Yet it is JFP obvious does have some power. I agree that she must work collaboratively with Guza who is the big dog there, but the actors say in interviews and she hints that she does have input over story direction. Oh well. It must be similar to the SON myth where some people insist that MAB is not to blame for anything on Y&R, it is all Sheffer, Hamner and Rauch.

Second, poor Greg Vaughan. First Gearygate, then recurring, now this. What a slap in the face. He certainly brought the pretty to GH. I hope he lands on his feet soon. If Days wasn't already so stuffed with newbies, I'd be banging the drums for him to go there! However, I also think he'd be well placed to try for a CW drama. Vampire Diaries as another Salvator relative.

About Jonathan Jackson, a few caveats:

- hope he has grown a couple of inches,

- hope his voice has lowered a couple octaves,

- hope he has kept up with acting and is on top of his game as a male actor, not a child-actor,

- hope Guza writes for him the way he did back in the 90s -- when he and Nikolas were equals.

- hope TG eats mega CROW following his remarks about Ethan being Luke's only true son blah blah blah.

If this means a new emphasis on the Cassadines and Spencers, then bring it on! Bring on Constance Towers, too. The Zacharrazzzzzzzz were always a poor mob imitation of the Cassadines anyway.

Why is this, given the straight men are not a desirable demo and GH does terribly in this demo? It is because Guza is insane.

JJ can change this by acting. He should be easily be able to push BA, TC, NP, and DZ off Guza's radar screen. Lucky is a far more interesting character than any of these male actors. JJ should be in MB and SBu league. Guza must be orgasmic.

THey said they always had to make certain their hair colors and styles were different when they shared scenes together. One could not have their hair tied back if the other did either.

He really does look 16. Its gonna look way odd with Sam, Liz, even Maxie. Kirsten herslef looks 20, but still put her and JJ next to eachother and its more older sister. And you are right about Becky, she is stunning, but she also looks the woman she is. Then there is putting him next to Tyler, Steve, Let alone Tony who is going to look like his great grand dad. lol. Even JMB looks older than him.

I weould say they jsut wont mention the Lucky/Maxie history - but they have actually done a good job of bringing it up and using it in both the maxie vs liz fued and maxies character in general. so...

No. JFP produces and has more power on GH than the SON myth believes. The actors in interviews say that she talks to them about their stories and their direction. LW said that JFP told her about her hair looking better straight which is why she rarely sports her natural curly hair any more. JFP is majorly involved. It seems that Guza has the back of his male actors and lets JFP run rough shod over the female actors with her brand of sexism.

JaneAusten, you are confirming what I have heard about JFP. This idea on SON and elsewhere on the GH boards, that JFP is this powerless EP is so ridiculous. She does have some power on the show, particularly over the women and the stories. Yet JFP allows Steve Burton and Tyler Christopher to balloon up in size and nary a peep. Guza must have their back.

I think we mean powerless in terms of her influence over the stories. I think she makes suggestions, yes, but there's no way her best buds Robin Christopher, Rick Hearst, John Bolger, etc. wouldn't have a lead story if JFP had some kind of control over stories.

Maybe Greg will land back on Y&R, I did hear they were looking to recast Diego a few months back.

Not that Greg looks anymore Hispanic than he did when he last played the role, but at least people are familiar with him in that role. They would so need to recast Victoria and/or make sure Sharon makes an honest effort to get away from Nick though, and yeah, Y&R's writing still sucks, so really, who knows how a Diego return would turn out?
