Hopefully what he said is enough to go on for those familiar with the storylines. I just think it's interesting that P&G had that "artifact" as he called it, in some sort of archive or storage or something. I would guess that was wedding #1, as that looks like a mantel they'd have had at Cross Creek. I know people loved that wedding, but I thought it a bit too "down home".

Very famous also very tied to Josh and Reva. Also this P&G video produces mixed reactions: glad to see it but a really egregious error of fact! Edited February 16, 2025Feb 16 by Contessa Donatella

Someone upthread mentioned the junk in the backyard, that was Harley's house....I kept thinking DCFS was going to come and take those kids...I was watching the show one night and my partner asked what the hell I was watching, I told him, and he said, "Looks like a bunch of white trash hillbillies running around." I could not argue. Are we talking about before or after Phillip tried to destroy Harley's house? You know the afternoon he kidnapped all the kids?

All I remember is Reva standing in the doorway of Cross Creek yelling out, "Hey there Barbara Jean...oh Bubba, you all coot, hiya" to apparently people who were driving, walking by? None of the other SF characters besides Lewises attended so I thought it was boring, no intrigues no bombs going off in the wedding cake, just Jeva, which on their own didnt do it for me.

The first error they made was announcing that As the World Turns ran for 72 years. Um, nope, that was The Guiding Light. Also, they were wrong about the creation of the soap genre. The first one was neither TGL nor ATWT. Clara, Lu and Em, and Irna Phillip's Painted Dreams predated them (debuting in 1930). https://www.oldtimeradiodownloads.com/soap-opera/clara-lu-and-em https://www.otrr.org/FILES/Synopsis_txt/P_Series/Painted_Dreams.htm This is as careless as referring to Mary Stuart as Mary Stewart on screen, when the actress died. Yikes! I think they were starting with televised soaps, IOW they were ignoring all those radio years, which as we know is totally WRONG. 16 minutes ago, Mitch64 said: I don't know, whatever the hell the house Gush and for some reason, all the Coopers seemed to live (did they forget that a Boardinghouse was attached to Company...probably) Unfortunately this answer is less than helpful. Does anyone actually know when the heck the OP was talking about? I mean it matters. Phillip attacked that house with a piece of heavy moving equipment. A bulldozer IIRC. This is a perfect example when people are critical of this era, suddenly facts do not matter. Well, that is wrong & everyone knows it. Facts actually DO Matter. Other than the visually striking moment of Reva in her dress, I hadn't really remembered any of it either. On rewatch (because it's right around both Billy's and Vanessa's returns), it amazed me how downright corny it is. And yeah, with no Springfield residents we know attending (Dylan, KS's Mindy and Hamp are new) the Shaynes and the Lewises have to carry it on their own. Other than laying the groundwork of Dylan's conception, it's just hokem that drags out for an entire week.

Quite obviously I didn't see it in the original just in clips & I didn't realize the thing about it going on for a week. I'm not sure but I think I'm appalled.
February 17, 2025Feb 17 Member Yep. Josh and Reva arrive at Cross Creek 7/10 and they actually marry 7/17. Yes, Pam Long. I understand having to get the most out of a location shoot, but this was the era of week long parties/events. Edited February 17, 2025Feb 17 by P.J.

February 17, 2025Feb 17 Thanks to everyone. I understand. Still it seems excessive. Maybe you had to be there.
February 18, 2025Feb 18 Member Oh my gosh - that wedding is my favorite of all time, maybe Steve and Betsy, As the World Turns. I was so sad when Meg Ryan left. As former he history - I saw a show tonight covering BTG and I thought they mentioned GL being on the radio and then TV. And it will always hold the record of longest running from Radio to TV.

I come from the same part of the country where the Lewises and Shaynes came from, and I gotta tell ya: Pam Long never had a CLUE about people from Oklahoma, lol.
