Jamie Luner has lit a spark on All My Children since joining the daytime drama earlier this year. But she says she’s ready and willing to take a trip from Pine Valley back to her old primetime neighborhood of Melrose Place — if she’s invited.

“Of course I would – it was so much fun!” Luner, who played Lexi Sterling on the original Melrose, told TVGuideMagazine.com at the Daytime Emmy Awards. “She was just fiery. I think it'd be a blast!”

But she wouldn't be surprised if the invitation doesn't come right away. Luner expects the new incarnation to welcome back returning cast members in a tantalizingly teasing fashion. “Don't hit them too hard and too fast,” she said. “You have to tease them, trickle them in. I think they're doing it right.”

Luner thinks the a revamped Melrose Place is “really exciting. I think the old show was fabulously popular. People don't expect that it's going to be the old show. It's something new with a similar sort of flair. I haven't seen the pilot yet, but I think it'll be great and hopefully I'll get a nice arc on there and come on back.”

She also has something to say about her current gig

Meanwhile, she’s enjoying the transition to AMC’s go-go-go pace. “I love it. It's like doing live theater. You have to be in the moment. You have to run with it. There's a rush and a thrill to that I really love. You do all this training in your life, but you don't really get time to break it all down. You just have to trust your tools are as sharp as they are and go with it. I'm having a blast!”

What kind of trouble will she be stirring up next as Liza Colby? “I certainly have a love triangle going on there with Thorsten Kaye (Zack) and Alicia Minshew (Kendall),” she laughed. “My character is a strong woman and she is using it.

I don't see anything strong about Liza. She faked a pregnancy to win back her daughter's love. She chases after a married man because she thinks him using her as a disposal unit a few minutes after they met makes him her ideal partner.

Melrose Place would be smart to mix the new residents with old ones and add Jamie to the cast. Jamie still looks good and she is not overly botoxed or has tons of plastic surgery like Heather Locklar and Lisa Rinna.

I watched MP during it'd height and never heard of this woman. She certainly wasn't on before Kimberly blew up the apartment complex, and lets face it, once that happened the show sort of lost its way and became irrelevant. Might as well ask Lisa Rinna back or Patrick Muldoon.

She came on in the final 2 seasons. She started off good in season 6 but they turned her into the biggest bitch ever on Melrose in season 7. They reinvented Lexie as the "new" Amanda and the series ended with her owning the apartment complex. Id love to see her back on the show especially with Michael there bc he and Lexie were a great match

Jamie mentioning Melrose Place really makes me want to find old episodes/DVD's. I'm starting to catch up on the entire 90210 series thanks to Soapnet. Very dissapointed to hear Soapnet pulled the plug on MP last year (I just got SN!)

I'm really beginning to love JL on AMC. She's a great actress. It's just tough to picture her as LIZA, but I love her chemistry w/ TK & VI

 Yeah, unlike most I like JL as Liza, but that may be because I never saw original Liza. Whether she is true to the character or not, I can't say, but I like her and hope she doesn't leave PV for MP.

Well, if she leaves during the move to LA, that would be pretty dumb, since they would both be filmed there. But I don't see ABC letting her out of her contract to be on Melrose anytime soon...

See, this is my thing...let's just say she asks to be let out of her contract, I just dont get why a producer would keep a star around who doesn't want to be there, build a story around them, make them even more integral to the plot of the show only for them to leave when their contract's up.

If, and this is a big IF since I think Jamie Luner is at AMC for the long haul, Luner wants to go, then let her. There are plenty of actresses better suited to the role of Liza (hi, Beth Chamberlain).

why cant she do both? Its not unheard of for a soap star to simultaenously work on daytime and primetime
