Members Scotty
Robin Strasser announces tonight on her hotline that she is staying with OLTL. I'll have more details later tonight or in the morning...

Members Doyen
I figured she would. Especially when she said that negotiations were on hold until Frons was back from his vacation.
Members ian
Top brass may be stupid, but not THAT stupid. It's Robin Strasser, you keep her around. DORIAN
Members sheilaforever
I wonder if she really took the originally suggested pay cut or whether they inched it up a bit. Or maybe she got mojo like vacation time or storyline input instead...

Members Carolyn1980
I'm embarrassed to say it, but I think she just followed my own line of thinking, which was that ABC Daytime would be the last soaps standing, thanks to SoapNet and ABC's ownership of their shows. Once she heard (and I heard) that ABC was putting off canceling one of their shows by switching coasts for one of them, she realized (as I did yesterday) that ABC soaps are on as shaky ground as those on the other nets. At that point, she realized she didn't really have as much leverage as she thought.
Members Southofnowhere
In other words AMC moving to HollyWeird scared the crap out of her!
Members LeClerc
Yet she claims she only found out about that after she told Valentini that she'd sign anything ABC gave her to sign.
Members Carolyn1980
She knew something was up, though...because she told him she'd accept the deal, and then said, "so what about the rumors?"
Members Ann_SS
I never understood where Robin Strasser got this idea that she had any leverage. Same with the other soap actors balking at taking these pay cuts. They act as if they have tons of jobs lined up so they can afford to lose a steady income with good health insurance. Their egos are out of control with some soap fans and columnists irrationally cheering them along. If GL's cancellation and now this move AMC to LA, has not woken these actors up nothing will. The networks are against the wall. The budgets have to be slashed or these soaps will be off the air.
Members DRW50
I don't think Robin Strasser believed she had big opportunities and OLTL was lucky to have her. I think this was about pride. She was a daytime star for decades, and is still well-respected. I'm sure she is grateful to have a regular acting job, but it must also hurt her to know what little regard she is held in by those at ABC Daytime. Not just Frons, even before Frons. Members Jonathan
Does she not have an agent? Why is she directly handling her contract negotiations?
