I'm giving the whole board a head's up - I'm going into Friday and next week knowing full well there will probably be holes all over the place. And not being happy about it. But I've come to terms with it and I've decided to turn off all logic and just hope for the best in terms of performances. The holes will be apparent, I'm sure. But I admit it - my curiosity about Bierdz and what kind of actor he is twenty years later far outweighs my logic center. For now, at least. Can't promise it'll be like that a month into the story. LOL!

I may ignore you for a week, A. Don't take it personally. I still love you, man. (No, I don't mean that in a vulgar, flirting, appalling way. Y&RWorldTurner's with me. I think. LOL!)

ETA: And don't worry. I'll e-mail you a personal list of all the holes tomorrow before it airs from me. So you know my problems with it ahead of time, based on everything we know. So you don't think I'm defending it. :D

The piling on of Jill is getting excessive. And everyone is siding with Katherine. Since when does she need propping. Katherine always gave as good as she received. I think MAB has taken this whole "Queen of Genoa City" too far. I think it hit me when they had a scene at Lily and Cane's wedding where Nina, Mac, and others led by Katherine and Murphy were laughing at Jill and making fun of her. It's too much. And how many times have they played out the same scene where Jill only overhears the part where Katherine says she is glad she is out of her life.

And cut out the health scares for Katherine. Jeanne Cooper is 80. I think it is morbid to constantly have her playing these medical crisis every few months, especially these mini strokes. And what is Mac now a doctor? Katherine is showing all the signs of stroke and yet they need to have a family pow wow before taking her to the hospital?

I suspect that although the industry is facing economic problems, the show is using the financial excuse to muscle out vets to make room for "hot" actors from other soaps and focus on more and more younger actors. You say it yourself. Tracey Bregman is used on three shows in three months because the show need to save money. They are not that hard up. They barely played the Nikki and Paul romance but it wasn't because of money. I think there is another agenda going on here (probably from the suits higher up although HS prefers to write for younger characters) and the finacial issue is a nice cover.

I can't see them writing her pregnancy into the show since we haven't seen Reed since Christmas. Maybe this is their opportunity to create tension between JT and Victoria and have them separate while she is on maternity leave.

Of course, it goes without saying I wish Amelia well during her pregnancy.

I agree that Jill is being used as a punching bag but I don't think it's that bad to see Katherine suffering from a stroke. It's not that far-fetched; it's reality IMO. Victor, OTOH, not showing any frailties makes no sense. It sucks that this was developed from a pretty hollow argument from Jill and how the repercussions of this stroke will probably be nil.

I was confused about Mac being a make-shift doctor. It was never established AS NO ONE HAS DELVED INTO HER LIFE IN DARFUR. (Bastards <_< ).

I think they were doing a mini-PSA for the signs of a TIA for their viewers LOL. Cause that hesitation makes no sense.

Just you mock. It's healthy for ya. :) It's so easy to search and find you were guilty of porn-crapola, too.

We were not offended, we were disgusted that a 40-year old psychology professor, who lived in Germany, acts the way he does. :) Funny, he isn't ashamed of himself, too.

I wish her a happy pregnancy but enough is enough. I'm tired of the irrelevance that has settled on Victoria during AH's reign and I despise that she is a sideshow character instead of a the main event in any story. Even Tyra gets more play than Victoria.

I agree with those about how much potential they squandered by not pairing Tyra with Devon right away. How hard was that? Instead they had to forcefeed us that horrible Neil and Tyra story and ruin Neil and Karen.

My heart remains impervious to CF's Mac. I've tried everything considering how fond I was of Ash's Mac and I just can't get into her. I should haven't to work so hard and the only reason I find myself struggling over this dilemma is because of "who" Mac is. I just want her to get with Billy so I can fast forward them. They are pretty awful together and I see no character building of Mac outside of Billy's true love. I'm ready for Chloe to move on from that albatross into something fun and more appropriate for her character.

I admit I'm curious about what they plan to do with this Cane isn't really Phillip III story despite my reservations and I still remain in the camp who believes that undoing Kay and Jill as mother and daughter is looking like it was not worth the effort.

    • Jenn was a huge part of the success of Days back in the day, and that contribution shouldn't be dismissed.  With that said, I do think her and Jack's time on the show should remain as occasional visits/drop ins. When Missy returns to play Jenn, Jenn is back to being Jenn.   Jenn in her glory days was head strong, fiesty, and was a live wire.... and her scenes with Jack on Friday was classic Jenn with Jack being the voice of reason.   It was the foundation of their relationship back in the day.
    • Claire was always tightly wound, I think what Long was going to do is to throw the three into this impossible situation with no bad guys, Mo, knowing how to take care of kids from growing up but unable to conceive and Claire, who didnt know how to take care of kids and was totally focused on her career, gets knocked up.  Ryder took Claire off the deep end as a convenient way to make story for characters he wasnt interested in (though Pratt blames McTavish) with little effort. It was later explained to be a brain tumor (though why was she a bitch again when she returned?) \ Claire did sleep with Rick, she was his first!
    • I'm sorry, truly I am, but this literally made me LOL. Tempting fate, much?

    • Oh, I have very little doubt that Missy feels some way personally and privately.  Donna was just saying she actively spoke out against Days in public in reference to the gay storylines, which she did not. I don't have super strong feeling about Jen one way or another.  She was always a side character to me.  I still think Missy is Jen regardless of her stupid beliefs.
    • I hated the swap-over; Clayton Norcross, to me, was far superior in the role of Thorne than Jeff Trachta ever was. And the recast left me disliking Thorne when he was the superior son to me. As for Teri Ann Linn, I feel like she got the raw deal. Kristen was very clear as a forefronting character, especially in her rivalry with Stephanie, and it feels like she was dropped off for Felicia, and they never returned it. Not to mention the subpar recast with Tracy Melchior in 2001. Someone like Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R) would've been more suited for that role.
    • I just remember when Leo was marrying Craig (?), Greg Rikaart stated a line and made direct eye-contact with Melissa Reeves, and when the camera cut to her, she looked away.

Rikaart had a mission that day, and he succeeded.
