Well, shock is what you remember, what stays with you. I STILL remember that episode from 30 years ago with Dickson performing that emergency tracheotomy. I remember that like is was yesterday. I suppose it had a purpose other than shock value... as it was really in vogue at the time to learn the Heimlich Maneuver, but no show ever told you what to do if it DIDN'T work. But other than that, what did that scene teach us, except to not argue with Brenda Dickson while eating a fried chicken leg.

I did scroll to the right. All I saw was hugs.

If they are fake kisses then why? I thought Engen was the one who quit because he didn't want to do the kiss. Why fake a kiss if both actors were into it?

Something still doesn't add up in all this mess.

Evidently CBS wanted a kiss between Rafe and Adam but Y&R didn't.

Here's stuff from the latest Nelson Ratings:

I agree with him about Yani. I am just not seeing any growth in him as an actor at all. He is the weak point in this story so far.

I don't see how Yani Gellman can have growth when he barely has a character to play. Rafe is a nobody. We know almost nothing about what makes him as a person or what he wants. I don't think Muhney has been any more believable, but he's the one who is supposed to be the amazing recast for the evil Chris Engen, so he gets a pass.

The hair people chose to give him the style which makes him look so young, and which made the scene where Adam propositioned him seem creepy.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
