Members Y&RWorldTurner
I wonder who gave them the idea to cast Amelia in the first place. They were so intent on showing the finger to Heather Tom that they didn't realize what a stupid mistake they were making and how much damage would be done. Members sheilaforever
I second that. It's high time for Heather Tom to leave B&B anyway... She's great but I'm done with her in L.A.
Members Soapsuds
She hasn't done much on B&B. Brad Bell doesn't know what or how to write for his stars. HT needs to return if rumors are true that MTS is gone. She needs to soften the blow a bit.
Members JackPeyton
she is what they wanted. Rachel Kimsey was the final 2. Its obvious they didnt want Victoria anymore, they wanted podViki. I forget what other actress read for the role... Martha Madison? Someone that talked about it a few years later after joining a soap. The problem is.... does HT want to return to Y&R? Members Y&RWorldTurner
Heather has been AWFUL on B&B for the past year or so. I love her, but the writing sucks, so she's been lazy like hell with what they've given her.
Members JackPeyton
i wouldnt say shes been awful, at all. shes been good. not spectacular or anything, but she has played what they have given her well. I wouldnt say lazy as much as unmotivated. Much like Walton has been on Y&R foir years
Members Heyou
I agree, if MTS is gone (and I don't want that role recast) the show definitely needs to bring in an actress that can be a strong Victoria not this watered down version we have now. I'd prefer it to be HT but GT would be awesome in the role too!
Members mr. sweet
i liked AH in the beginning years of her Y&R stint. And I really liked her as Steffi on Loving (though I was really young when she was on--like late elementary/early highschool). I am ready for a change but not all is AH's fault. The writers have made Victoria a very boring character.
Members Heyou
Just like some of the other actors, they are writing for the actress and NOT the character and this is coming from someone that liked Amelia as Mia on AMC.
Members DRW50
I agree. Geez, AH had better material in her recent episode of Ghost Whisperer than she's had on Y&R in years. She's not right for Victoria, but she is also what the writers make her. The actress is part of the problem, but given the weak nature of the material given to actresses like Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford, who can do more, I'm not sure how much is on AH's head. I don't believe Y&R has any real interest in making Victoria a strong character. I also don't believe that Y&R wants to repair the Newman family. They could have rebuilt the family through Adam, and instead they have made him one-dimensional and darker than dark and only further isolated the other Newmans throughout this storyline. I think they had a great story about the estranged, complex Newman family, this was last year, and it was all wrapped up through Nick and Victoria being forgiven because they believed Victor didn't forge the diaries. Ever since then, they've barely existed in Victor's life. Even without MTS and her contract problems, they could have made something with the rest of the family and they didn't. This team just don't seem to do family. The Abbotts were supposedly going to have a great renaissance with Ashley's return and the new Billy, and instead they're almost as totally isolated as they were during the LML run, if not even moreso. I hope there's potential to make Victoria a strong character again, if this team knows how to write strong women, but I'm not sure if they'll ever write for families. Members y&r_fan
My biggest fear about Victoria being recast is losing Thad Luckinbill. He's the only one left from the original 'teen scene' and given a chance, Thad can act.
Members VirdenEMT
Heather Tom IS Victoria Newman. This current one is a drip. No other description fits her. Anyone else will be dull.
Members Cheap21
and easily the worst. JT should have left YEARS ago. His airtime is evident of how completely useless he is
Members Soapsuds
Ditto! . You forget the Raul is back. So your statment is incorrect.
Members DRW50
I thought Raul was going again since Mac has broken up with him. I don't think airtime shows the importance of a character. Tyra has clogged up the frontburner for a year and she still adds nothing to the canvas.
