No matter how bad it got Passions is still what got me into soaps and it wasn't all bad, especially 2000-2003ish they were on a roll and I still watch the episodes on YouTube, I'm happy that the loyal fans keep it alive after all these years and that its longevity continues and reunions because that doesn't always happen with cancelled soaps.  

Haha... I started tuning in the summer after you. The first episode I saw was when Luis and Sheridan's boat exploded. And I really enjoyed the show back then. But those later years, even though there were still things that I l liked, was were just so all over the place. 

The constant non-exits of characters, Chad suddenly gay/bi, Sheridan as a villain (which I always felt would've worked had they not made her a Beth-like villain) and then DirecTV. Lol it's kind of sad.

Passions is the one soap I think would work well in primetime and the cast wants to do it but I doubt it would ever happen.

You're right, and with Reilly passed away it would mean new writers but that reminds me of something I always think about, JER passed away just a few short months after Passions was canceled. Imagine Directv renewed the show for another year... I wonder if MarDar would have stepped in as headwriters since they worked under Jim for years, or if they would've brought someone in.

I could see Ron Carlivati being a good writer for PSNS, especially since during that time he was on OLTL writing stories like the tale of two Todds, Jess/Tess/Bess/Wes and the Ford brothers were half naked all the time. And hasn't it come out since that he pitched a vampire version of OLTL as a new soap... yea he would've had a field day at Passions lol. 

Ron C. is probably the writer in recent soap lore who is the closest to JER in tone and vision.

The worst was when they were in LA summer 2003 when Gwen lost the baby. Besides that entire day started in August and lasted till thanksgiving…Lindsay Hartley wore that pink top for about two months!   and they joked about this during the reunion but this was when Whitney was shot and Chad Ethan and Fox were walking around shirtless in the hospital for like two weeks! Lol

I often wonder how the cast filmed one inane story after another while keeping straight faces on camera! Obviously, they knew they weren't doing Shakespeare. 😂

Yes!! I liked him, too. 😊 He should have been a recurring character. There sure were worse characters around!!

It's up now. I may actually tune in. I did like Grease 2 and TJ Hooker. 😊

I don't  follow Mary Elizabeth Winstead that closely so this may not be any big revelation, but she recently talked about the unpleasant Passions set and how she broke her contract after a year to get away from  it. 

 

She's so talented - I liked her on the show but I had no idea how good she could be as an adult. She deserves better star vehicles, though. Her film Faults with her ex (she's now with Ewan McGregor) is especially good.
