I always wondered what happened re: Sheridan. Maybe McKenzie Westmore pissed him off, or maybe St. JER just got horny for some younger face.

It is astonishing to me how much they initially hung around Grace when Dana Sparks was one of the worst actors on a remarkably bad show. That also seemed like a course change given how much Grace and Charity were built up, but I doubt it was about her acting ability because he never cared much about that.

I do think Ethan and crazy Theresa were always meant to end up together. But I think Miguel and Kay were a course change, as possibly was Sam and Ivy, where JER let his very tortured relationship with his faith and his concept of good vs. sin/evil transgress, break the rules and let the 'bad'/more 'fun' character get the man. The longer the show went on and the older he got, the more frankly depraved the work got and his past, proto-puritanical sense of ethics faded away. That's not to say the original couples were any better, just that his outlook had clearly altered and grown much more coarse.

Miguel and Kay was definitely a course correction. I remember Tabitha going on about how if and when Miguel and Charity got together, they'd destroy evil with the purity of their love, or something like that. I can only imagine what Jesse Metcalfe and Molly Stanton thought when the cameras weren't rolling.

Did Molly want to leave? Is that why they just had the fake Charity? After seeing Kristina Sisco slowly learn to act on ATWT I was surprised to hear she had popped up on Passions.

Did the last Kay have any fans? Not sure if the Miguel recasts did...

From the bits I've seen of Sam and Ivy later on he seemed to be angry with her for a while but then finally decided he still wanted to be with her, no matter what. It's a remarkable turn for JER (imagine John forgiving Kristen and leaving Marlena in the dust), although I give him credit there. I would have enjoyed seeing them dirty Sam up a little anyway if the show had gone on longer.

I wasn't watching during Blair Redford's run as Miguel, but I remember thinking the transition from Jesse Metcalfe to Adrian Bellani was a repeat version of what happened with Jason Cook to Brandon Beemer on Days. We went from a babyface to a men's fitness pinup.

I suspect that had the show gone on, or was airing in 2025, Sam and Ivy would have been solidified as a tentpole couple.

Oh, and it turns out I'm wrong: Metcalfe to Bellani happened before Cook to Beemer.

Side note: Days' Garden of Eden storyline with Austin & Greta feels like something that could have aired on Passions with Miguel & Charity.

I actually preferred Adrian Bellani/Gerardo Celasco to Metcalfe. I thought he was magnetic and was a star. It also didn't help that he was incredibly sexy and easy on the eyes.

Adrian Bellani was my sexual awakening 😍😍

I had been noticing Eric Martsolf, Justin Hartley, etc. by that point, but when Adrian showed up, that was it 😂😂😂😂

He was, indeed, very, very sexy, and has aged well.

Justin Hartley was always a favourite of mine as Fox. He had chemistry with everyone in the show. Aside from his obvious chemistry with Lindsay Hartley, I also loved the scenes with Ben Masters. The father/son dynamic between Julian and Fox was great to watch because they’re both such good actors that you could almost ignore the ridiculous writing for awhile. It’s too bad JH didnt last long in the show but he went to do bigger and better things so I can’t blame him.

.. and speaking of course corrections in the show, I think Theresa and Fox should have been one. They had insane chemistry and we know obviously they ended up being a couple in real life so maybe that had something to do with it, but they really should have pushed Fox & Theresa more instead of making the triangle all about Gwen and Theresa fighting over Ethan. There was really no need to bring in Jared later in the show when Fox and Theresa already had such a strong fan base. Instead they ended up putting Fox with Kay which was a total bore.

Also speaking of Theresa, has there ever been a bigger thirst bucket in soap opera history? There was a scene around 2002 where she was literally clinging onto Ethan’s leg while begging and crying for him not to leave her. That must have been humiliating for Lindsay Hartley to play day in, and day out..

Have you watched B&B much? It sounds like Lindsay Hartley and Katherine Kelly Lang could compare experiences....

Impossible to believe this is the same character for most of the show's run, although Mackenzie Westmore does a good job with such a hideously dark turn.

Needless to say this is all one big trigger warning...

Did they ever end up explaining her sudden change of character in the finale? For some reason I recall them making something up at the very end about her having some kind of brain condition. Clearly she wasn’t completely cured of it though if she managed to convince herself that Antonio was her soul mate 🤣

The most sickening part of that whole ending is the fact that Mackenzie Westmore has alluded to being sexually harassed by the actor who played Antonio and that was actually the reason he left the show initially. So the fact that they put her character with him in the series finale is pretty sadistic.

What? That's awful (and unsurprising for Reilly tbh).

The Wiki doesn't seem to give a reason for the change other than her deciding that mass poisoning went too far, but they probably missed something.

Geez I had no idea about any of that with the actor who played Antonio. It feels extremely spiteful. And the ending of her forcing herself to believe that Antonio is her soulmate after everything with Luis is almost like JER admitting just how toxic living your life based on a "soulmate" is.

It was during an episode of Natalie Zea & Travis Schuldt’s podcast during the pandemic “Passions for life” and Mackenzie Westmore was a guest on one of their episodes where she talks about an actor who was making moves on her during filming & she made a complaint and they got rid of him right away at the time.
In later episodes Natalie & Travis basically confirm it was Christopher Douglas in later episodes and that he was the only actor on the show they strongly disliked.

Natalie Zea also alluded to having some issues with Lindsay Hartley on set but that they’re on great terms now. However, she said she won’t discuss it unless Lindsay Hartley comes on the podcast and talk about it with her.

More reason that all of our hatred of Antonio was justified 😂

Were there any other BTS stories from their podcast?
