Why would there need to be a Daniel doppleganger? The character isn't that important to the fabric of the show. If Billy Miller up and quit, then hell yeah, we have to get a new Billy Abbott. If MG leaves, what's the point of another Daniel? The show needs to bring on characters like Kyle or Keemo or even Ricky. I am honestly asking the question: What is point of Daniel? If anyone can answer the question, I will be very interested in what you have to say.

well I guess we can all thank the Soap Gods we don't all have the same views!! if we all liked the same thing it would be boring as hell!

I would take any PHICK day good or bad over any SHICK day! I had enough of their story, time to move on and forward instead of backwards and boring! we can not re-visit the past in the REAL world, why should we be forced to endure it in the REEL world!!

Exactly, I agree. :)

How about putting an end to both couples, and givng Phyllis someone dynamic partner to play off of, which will never be Nick? Phyllis could do MUCH BETTER.

They need some creative writers to break these coupls up and pair them all with new people.

I've never thought in terms of it is written so as one should root for this ONE couple. People will like who they like and in some cases some like neither, I don't know maybe it's a bit naive of me to think MAB gets that at this point. I mean I assume Shick is endgame but I think even in this case this works to the shows benefit

If we going to give Sharon a Abbot baby it should be Jacks, Not only he had a child by his ex step son ex wife. I'm sure the writers would think of something with Jack vs Victor on a whole different level. Then it will bring Nikki into play. Maybe she'll remember that she once was pregnant by Jack.

This is even better to have Sharon carrying Jack kid. Just to show Nikki what she would have missed out on. the nwe finally can see Jack as an hands on father. Because I'm sure Sharon won't send the child away. & She 'll to busy get back with Nick & whoever.

Not that intrigued by a Shack baby the plotlines that event will drive can and will be driven by many other important elements. From my perspective why tie the Abbotts and Newmans through bloodline anymore than they are already (ABBY)? I'll continue to buy the feud with less common relatives involved. The less the better. I'm already a bit on the fence about legacy characters Noah and Abby's relation (though many times I forget and have to be reminded), but that I get. After the fans get increasingly tired of the whole quad there goes the benefit of having a Shack baby, I might be the only one but I'm not interested....

Naturally, I disagree. Who cares about Abby? She's a teen that was SOARSED basically because Noah was and because Ashley came back to town. The writers have a good three or four years of story with a Sharon sired Abbott. There are not enough baby boys on the playing field. But then, they can make Summer and Baby Boy Abbott nearer to each other's ages in a decade for a romance that would draw the quad together again.

No I don't believe an Abbott should be the father. It would be interesting if this who's the daddy tale involved a non-Newman- non-Abbott if they didn't want to make the baby Nick's for story reasons, but I'm not interested in the Sharon/abbott offspring. I however would find it interesting if the part of the twist was the belief that baby was an Abbott, where (planned quite well/thoroughly) quite delciously the twist is that the baby is actually a Newman

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
    • The woman who was the co-chair of Latinas for Trump is now complaining about his targeting immigrants that she thought were "safe." I also read a puff piece from yet another "insider" journalist who lives to normalize fascists - this one with a tech bro who was venting off the record because he thought voting for Trump was cool and would show up the Democrats and maybe we'd get Greenland, but now he's getting upset.  These people still support Trump, and Republicans, they just want to make sure they get credit for being respectable. And they will get it.
    • I really do wish someone could. Just a few characters in very simple backdrops, with very real problems that are just a little larger than life, like the '50s and '60s. All the characters having a level of dignity or respect. And their inner lives are what dominate the story, even if there are outside forces at play.
