May 24, 200916 yr Member I did love V the first series. Now a question, the priest that is in the clip, he played that reporter guy that was in the first series right Now the woman (the FBI agent) that is in the clips what is her name. I know that I have seen here before and it seems that s soon as I get it, it goes away again. (She would be in this series what the Dr was in the last one.) And Anna = Diana The reporter seems familiar as well. Not sure but was there the army guy (or at least I think he was army) in the bit where the protester says every man, woman & child. ETA - Now I know where I have seen her before, a workmate that I showed the clip to said that she was in Lost Edited May 26, 200916 yr by SnCCorinthos4ever
May 31, 200916 yr Member I did love V the first series. Now a question, the priest that is in the clip, he played that reporter guy that was in the first series right No, that was Marc Singer. This is Joel Gretsch. He's been in some other scifi stuff before and he's also married to one of William Shatner's daughters. But there is a striking resemblance between the two actors. I'll predict right now that Singer will make an appearance/cameo (but not as Mike Donovan) as a little homage to the original...and because he doesn't seem to be working much these days! Now the woman (the FBI agent) that is in the clips what is her name. I know that I have seen here before and it seems that s soon as I get it, it goes away again. (She would be in this series what the Dr was in the last one.) Elizabeth Mitchell. And just cuz I tend to remember trivia, lol, her original series counterpart would be Faye Grant, who's married to Stephen Collins of "7th Heaven" and the first Star Trek movie. (This is beginning to be "Six Degrees of William Shatner.") Edited June 3, 200916 yr by applcin
November 4, 200916 yr Member "Chuck" executive producer Scott Rosenbaum is taking the reins of ABC's new sci-fi drama series "V" as executive produce/showrunner. The move is part of a two-year seven-figure overall deal Rosenbaum has inked with "Chuck" producer Warner Bros. Television which also produces "V." "V," based on the 1980s miniseries, launches Tuesday amidst strong fan buzz and solid reviews. It will air four episodes, ending with a cliffhanger before the returning in the spring for the rest of its 13-episode order. Behind the scenes, there have been bumps. Production on the show was shut down in late August for "creative hiatus" after two post-pilot episodes had been shot. Reevaluating the creative direction of the series, the studio made a change at the helm, switching showrunner responsibilities from executive producer Jeff Bell, who had joined in June, to executive producer Scott Peters, who penned the pilot. The show resumed production in mid-October to film one more episode for the initial four-episode run before going on a holiday hiatus. Meanwhile, Rosenbaum was approached by WBTV brass to take over the big-budget series. The writer-producer, who is still on "Chuck," will make the transition to "V" later this month. Peters will continue as executive producer alongside Jason Hall, while Bell is expected to depart. "V" is scheduled to resume production in January. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3i86ae90f3122997621715ee72c388e93f

November 5, 200916 yr Member Isn't V supposed to be a miniseries? I guess I'm confused because everyone keeps talking about it as a new series... Unless something changed? I think it's a series, but they have split it up. They are just showing 4 episodes now and the rest starting in March. Here is some news on the ratings where they also refer to it as a series. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Ratings-V-NCIS-1011569.aspx Edited November 5, 200916 yr by Juliajms
November 7, 200916 yr Member I liked the pilot and will be tuning in to see more. Is the show limited to 13 episodes or will they do more if the ratings stay good? Next week will tell us if they managed to grab the audience.

Next week will tell us if they managed to grab the audience. I'm pretty sure they'll be more if the ratings stay up. I've liked it so far. I would have liked to see more of a setup to thinks, but I guess that doesn't grab people's attention fast enough anymore.

My only problem is that, even though they've changed the situation, we know the big premises. Alien is bad, eats rats. Some earthling (probably Lourdes) will get pregnant, and we'll wonder what's gonna come out of her. Keeping this original and shocking is going to be difficult...at least for old people like me.

Who is Lourdes? I'm thinking this time it might be the Visitor that gets pregnant. That one girl seems to have her eye on Tyler. I don't mind so much that the major premise is already spoiled. There are a lot of new directions this show could go in since the original only had one season. The question for me is can they keep the drama up with the resistance? Right now resistance seems downright futile, but TPTB must have a plan. I've seen the original in syndication and somehow the characters seemed better, but maybe that will change over time.

November 25, 200916 yr Member This last episode was good. I wonder what that whole "Bliss" thing is about. I can't wait to see that explained further. And now we have at least one alien baby on the way. I just wonder why the V's didn't seem to pick up on that when that lady went to them for her exam, I mean, if they can scan people on a cellular level.
