Members Leia
Vanessa Williams has a major attitude problem. I don't care much for Tyra but I'd rather have her back hosting disastrous wardrobe included.
Members Cat
Woah, am I missing something? Suicidewatch at Lenox Hospital? Vanessa Williams' career turning south? I don't understand. I *love* me some Wilhemina Slater.
Members marceline
I love Vanessa. She's a trooper but I don't understand why she's doing this. At least Tyra is IN daytime. VW has no connection to talk shows, soaps or the CW, does she? Sista must have invested with Madoff or something. Massive overwhelming debt is the only explanation I can come up with for this. That or she lost a bet.
Members Sylph
I think her Wilhelmina is... So silly. Actually, flat. I get no “masterful villainess” vibe from character/actress. It's just terrible.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Ugly Betty is one of the most contrived and unoriginal pieces of sh*t on television....

Members Cat
Please. You don't have to convince me of that. I stopped watching Ugly Betty halfway through Season 2. I'm sad they wasted Ana Ortiz (Hilda), though. And I loved Vanessa Williams as Wilhemina. Let's face it, no character on that show was ever going to be any more than one-dimensional (and I'm still pissed that ABC can't tell the difference between a cuban, puerto rican and mexican. Yes, they speak Spanish, but these are three distinct cultures, America!). But VW looked like she was having a ball. I've liked her in interviews, too. Members SFK
They probably paid Vanessa a king's ransom when they could have saved money and hired a familiar much loved/much missed daytime personality who would do a better job at endearing the target audience. Even if you love Vanessa, you're not going to make yourself sit through a soap-related program if you're not a soap fan. Soap people and their inferiority complex, always trying to get street cred by attaching themselves to primetime/film stars.
Members marceline
Do you really think they're paying her that much? It's the Daytime Emmys on the CW. That's one step above a webcast from an Applebees in East LA. It's not like they have much to work with.
Members jfung79
I wasn't watching for most of 2008, but in catching up, I have liked some of Rafe's material. For example, he was great around Gus's death, nice range -- angry, sad, and eventually Rafe's softer side too. Here are some clips of that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFroNKKb6nw EJ Bonilla is a compelling, natural actor, and way hot, and when he goes on to stardom, I'll be proud that I supported him on GL. He is already receiving praise for the independent film he starred in, "Don't Let Me Drown", which aired at the Sundance Film Festival. From a review of the film (http://www.firstshowing.net/2009/01/20/sundance-2009-review-cruz-angeles-dont-let-me-drown/),"Newcomer E.J. Bonilla in particular steals the show, and if it weren't for him, this wouldn't have been as wonderful as it was. His character is not the stereotypical Latino, but a more realistic representation, and I think that's what makes him so likable in the end. Definitely a film Cruz Angeles should be very proud of making." GL should feature him more instead of two episodes a month.
Members UKBoi
Need I remind you of the horror that was Rafe and Daisy? Good actor, sucky character.
Members jfung79
I actually really liked Rafe and Daisy in 2007, and would prefer them now to James and Daisy too. I immediately liked Rafe when Daisy met him in juvy and he was all mysterious and troubled, yet nice. Then the diabetes stuff and finding out Gus was his dad, the secret seeing each other, all the interaction with Natalia, aaaaah! Rafe has been the best out of any of Daisy's boyfriends. By the way "sucky character" (I disagree with that description - love Rafe - but anyway ...) shouldn't matter on whether someone is nominated for an acting award. The "good actor" part is what matters.
Members jfung79
Props to Nelson, he corrected the error and now lists EJ Bonilla as simply "Rafe, GL."
Members You're Soaking in it
Maybe it's all those gimmicky "WHHOOOOSHES," aimless "ZOOOOOOMS," and topsy-turvy angle views that happen with the sounds-effects / camera-work on so many of the scene intros. Someone probably thinks it's all "groundbreaking," as opposed to pointless or stupid.
