ATWT: Tragedy in Oakdale-TV Guide Article

From TV Guide:

It's going to be a sad, sad week on As the World Turns, but it's sure to give Trent Dawson a huge and rare dramatic showcase. On May 20, Dawson's comic-relief character, Henry Coleman and his ladylove, Vienna will lose the baby they've been expecting. Henry is devestated and blames the tragedy on his BFF, Katie.

It's a messy situation: Vienna volunteered to be a surrogate mother for Katie and her hubby, Brad, then hid the fact that the baby she's been carrying is really Henry's. In scenes airing May 19, Vienna goes to Katie to try and make amends for her deceit. Katie wants none of it and runs away. Vienna chases after her and falls, causing a miscarriage.

"Things get pretty ugly between Henry and Katie-he spews alot of bile at her," Trent Dawson says. "He's forgiven her for a lot over the nine years of their friendship, but he can't forgive this." Henry claimed he didn't want to be a dad, fearing a continuation of his gene pool(his father's an alcoholic and his sister's a serial killer). "But the moment he found out the baby was his, the switch flipped," Dawson notes. "He really wanted that child."

Vienna tries to convince Henry that they can try again. "But he doesn't want to hear it," says Dawson, who has won three back-to-back Emmy nominations for his (usually) laugh-filled performance. "I don't know where the writer's are taking this. Grief can do some really weird things to a relationship. Right now, Henry's running and doesn't want to think about another baby. It's just too painful"

So, he's furious Vienna lost the baby he wasn't sure he wanted until she was actually pregnant with it...but he doesn't want to try and have another?

I don't know where the writer's are taking this.

You and me both, Trent!

You know Henry has been waiting for Nuke to break up so he can move in on Luke or Noah. Vienna has only be a diversion.

That would be hot but the one I want to see now is Dusty and Noah.

A guy on another board wrote an erotic short story where a drunken Noah comes on to Dusty and Dusty goes for it. Talk about hot.

Well, as often as Dusty clenches his teeth...let's just say, he's had plenty of practice. ;)

Well in the story Noah was one gritting his teeth, but I see the other too.

The only tragedy in Oakdale is that they still believe they can pass Henry off as straight.

"Tragedy", Vee, not "travesty". ;)

Sometimes I forget ATWT is even on, I can't remember the last time I read a spoiler about this show.

That's because Goutman doesn't believe in soaps. Investment in a continuing serial format might be too taxing for our little brains. So why have spoilers when there are so very few cliffhangers?
