Julie Osburn debuts this week as Kathleen McKinnon, M.J. and Ben's sister, and a potential romantic interest for Cass.

Nancy Frangione was great but they did a good job replacing her with Julie Osburn as Kathleen. Sometimes replacements are too obviously pale imitations but she fit in with Felicia and Cass without being a Cecile clone.

Robert Sedgwick joined the "AW" cast as Hunter Bradshaw, a rival of Ben 'McKinnon for school quarterback and for the affections of Marley Love.

I remember Hunter Bradshaw. I thought although he was superficially someone Donna would think suitable for Marley, there was more potential for something interesting between him and Thomasina. He didn't last long though.

She didn't really have any relationships to other characters or role other than Wife to Sandy.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Judy Dewey? Did she ever appear on another soap? Laura Malone, of course, returned to her native Seattle and became a corporate attorney.

Who was writing this crap?  Steve Frame was never as wealthy as Mac Cory -- not even close.  Now they're saying Steve is the richest man in town.   Good grief!

Not sure who wrote the promo but this was the Corinne Jacker era. I shudder at the memory of that abysmal year.

Corinne Jacker clearly had no sense of pacing or characterization. Two months after all of that aired, Pete and Diana already wanted to get married. And it wasn't just with them; a lot of storylines at this time were rushed or dropped entirely, while others went on far longer than they needed to.

Is that a young Chris Marcentel in that clip?

Yeah. That's him.

I would disagree.  Both of Blaine’s brothers were in in Bay City.  As was her best friend Sally, ex husband  Jamie, in laws the Corys,  rival Donna.  Blaine had many storylines before Sandy and could have after Sandy if the writers wanted to write it.

Sure -- but they didn't give any of them to Judy Dewey. She seemed to exist only as a supporting character in Sandy's life (with a little bit of supportive sister to Larry and Catlin). She didn't have any personal goals or desires separate from the Corys, as far as I remember. If they liked Judy Dewey as an actress rather than just a tool for keeping Chris Rich on the show they could have given her all kinds of opportunities.

Did Laura Malone's Blaine interact with Donna? I remember Donna clinging to Sandy as a protector and Judy Dewey's Blaine seeming peeved about it, but not any other kind of rivalry between Blaine and Donna.

Valid points.  I only remember Judy Dewey and Anna Stuart having snarky interactions.  I don’t recall scenes between Laura Malone and Anna.  There may have been but I don’t recall.

Blaine was dull af as soon as she married Sandy, Cecile and Sally moved to the forefront, as well as the younger set and Felicia!

At that time Return From The Dead Steven Frame was  the Richest Man in BC!

I think Laura Malone was a terrific performer no matter what she was given to play, but do you all think Blaine was better as a villainess or a heroine? (Most of the material I've seen on YouTube is after Blaine had become a good girl.)

i remember an Afternoon TV critique commenting on how Blaine had been thrown into so many stories with different leading men over a short space of time and that despite changes in characterization and motivation Laura Malone had managed to keep some integrity and interest in Blaine throughout.
