Stephen Schnezer and Nancy Snyder's son Ben is doing fantastic work on The Madison.

Thanks for the recommendation.

This is from a few years ago but here's an interview with Ben on a podcast called That One Audition. He talks a little about his parents.

I recall being in favour of the Matt/Donna pairing at the time, but I remember very few details. It made a bit of a change for both of them while staying within current core families.

Donna was a perfect "Cougar"....

AWHP posted a transcript of a call-in interview of Victoria Wyndham's from 1995. The most interesting part is how many callers complained about Justine, which Victoria does not seem thrilled by. She addresses questions about whether Iris will be back, and why Amanda was written out. She also said she talks the same way in real life as she does as Rachel. I wonder if this is before she began using the Shakespeare voice as Rachel.

People tied to AW were repeatedly asked when Iris was returning yet they never bothered. Sad.

About the only positive thing I can say about the Rachel/Justine storyline is that Carl knew almost immediately that "Rachel" was not Rachel. He wasn't a complete sap like Trevor was on AMC when he didn't know that it was Janet (not once, when she was impersonating Natalie; but again, when she had come back to town and was masquerading as "Jane Cox").

27 years ago today and just 3 weeks before the shows 35th anniversary, NBC announced the cancellation of AnotherWorld

The pairing seemed to be well-received. JFP presumably got the ick as Anna Stuart wasn't one of her avatars so the character was humiliated and degraded (and supposedly was going to be killed off if not for fan backlash - I think Donna was generally more popular with fans than with a number of PTB over the years).

Donna/Matt were so well-received that when Amy Carlson first debuted as Josie, the original purpose of her character (to reunite with Matt) was 86'd because of how popular Matt and Donna were as a couple.

And I agree that the show was really working to make Donna pathetic during the serial killer story with her throwing herself at Michael, Michael turning her down, and her acting desperate and trying to do odd things that made her look guilty. It seemed as though JFP/Depriest were going to make her so pathetic that her murder would be looked at as tragic because of how sad and pathetic a delusional older woman was (and this was constructed by two older women).

I remember telling my mom about how Donna was the original final victim of the serial killer and she said 'you can't kill off Donna, she's too vital to the show'. Oddly the show decided on Frankie because she scored lower on a focus group test and it was during a time where Frankie was hardly written for and was being written as almost too serious without any of her more quirky and whimsical elements that made her character very unique. The show's attempt at trying her with another platonic guy friend (Joe) didn't work as well as her platonic friendship with Ryan.. and I guess the show just assumed it was due to her and not from the male character (hot as he was).
