I see. For some reason I always thought DF was female.

Actor bashing is okay here. In fact you can say pretty much anything as long as you're agreeing with 'the majority'. If you're disagreeing with 'the majority' they'll call you a troll and accuse you of agenda pushing. :)

I don't get all the Tylo bashing either. I'm going to be a troll and say I think she's better than Lang.

It was very nice to see Stephanie share some scenes with "Caroline" again. I didn't care for Karen the first time around, but these scenes reminded me of classic B&B. This show could use a sophisticated lady (yes, Karen :) ) who hasn't been involved with every single guy on the show.

It seems like Brad Bell loves the ChildrenWantTheirParentsBack storyline. Whether it is Ridge, Thorne and Felicia or Thomas and Steffy. BTW Thomas and Steffy acted like little kids in their scenes with Ridge and Taylor.

Brooke should get out of the house more often. She has started reminding me of the nineties version of Nikki Newman, who NEVER left the ranch. Brooke should be more like Jill Foster Abbott or Alexis Colby by now, not like a teenager in love. She has lost her brains and I am sure that she created BeLieF by mistake :P

It looks like Brad Bell isn't interested in Hunter Tylo at all. He gave the Rick storyline to Steffy, turned her into a Taylor clone and now he brought Karen (as a matter of fact Caroline) to remind to the viewers who Ridge's true love always has been.

Bravo. I agree. Except the show did restore flirty sexiness to her that I feel she has brought back to Y&R. So that was one benefit.

Ashley on Y&R is always closer to the edge of nervous breakdown, eh? I do believe, though, at the END of this we'll have a stronger Ashley who is past her girlish dreams (Victor!) and will be ready for her first bona fide mature relationship.

B&B brought Ashley back from the dead literally.

One minute in L.A. she sported make-up, hair and wordrobe absolutely fitting her character unlike the previous years on Y&R. She was extremely flirtatous and full of strength. Hated her involvement with RIck, though, but loves her with Ridge (Ronn Moss was more than decent in that pairing...) and the rivalry with Brooke - as long as it became obvious that Brad would soon turn the tables and reunite Bridge for absouteky no reason.

Okay, so it is entertaining enough to see Stephanie, cat-that-ate-canary, bait Brooke as she sees her chance.

But good lord....TRULY....the exact same story for 22 years!!!

When do they stop going to the well? If Taylor were truly Stephanie's successor as "moral center" (is Steph forgetting what a basket case she's been these last years??), she'd know that Ridge FEELS committed to Brooke, Taylor still shouldn't go after him.

Taylor is no better than Brooke.

And Stephanie, trying to remove the Logans, kind of puts the lie to her assertion to Eric earlier in the week, that she wants nothing more from him. That is irreconcilable with her desire to remain the "matriarch".

This show :angry::wacko:

Of course not.

I'm just happy, quite frankly, that Don gets a soft landing.

And I think his toro-vs-toro scenes with Ridge will be a riot.

Clearly, as they are positioning Ridge and Brooke apart, no matter what they say ("...paired with

..."), Bill Jr. and Ridge and Brooke and Taylor are gonna mix it up. And the one set of scenes I'm gonna like is Don and Ridge snarling at each other. It's kinda like wrestling :).

There was a spumor that Bill Jr. would be

.

If the standard of play in the women's final yesterday wasn't of the highest caliber, that is not something you could say about today's final. It was absolutely fantastic tennis.
    • When Barbara's letter was read (partly in Barbara's voice), there was commenting upthread that Barbara's voice is similar to the voice of Naomi's unhoused client June.  It did sound like her.  June is played by Jasmine Burke.  Per closing credits, Barbara was voiced by Sherita Bolden.  Still possible that they are connected. From our discussion on the May thread:  Looks and/or voices similar between June, Haley, and Tracy.   Tracy looks like Debbi Morgan. LOL so June might be connected to Haley, Tracy, or Barbara; and/or Samantha&Tyrell. I love that we don't know!
    • In the 1987 episodes, Mary has wonderful conversations with MJ and Cheryl. This is a realistic family with believable dynamics. Mary's ambivalence towards Vince is played nicely. Denise Alexander is so good here. I don't know what happened that the writers or producers just decided to chuck it all away. I don't FF these scenes. The show had a strong family that could have had years of storyline and they did nothing with them. I really don't get it.
    • I can't speak for Sonni, but I thought Annie came off as neurotic from very early on. That's just how Cynthia Watros plays her parts, and the writing went along. I don't think Claire was mentally ill - they claimed she had a brain tumor, didn't they? I am never sure just why they made the effort given that she was leaving anyway.
    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.  I'm not a content expert, but I don't think cis gendered women fantasize about losing control of their mental faculties in response to an orgasm. Similar to Holly's story, it seems repulsive, because I don't believe women fantasize about becoming more vulnerable and appealing to men after they've been assaulted.
    • I just watched some parts of an episode of GL where Roger has just been shot by Holly. Rita then admits to Hillary that Roger raped her. Kasdorf is such a fantastic actress. I wish there were more of her work available.
    • -- Alex Alegria has almost a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and a large tatt on one pec. I see no indication that the show is covering up his ink,
    • Didn't Carrie2 even seduce a minor? Ick. Oh, yeah, and she even tried to seduce Alan, but this was his post-prison era when he was trying to prove to everyone he had changed. It's funny that of all people he didn't go for it. Wait. Josh had an affair with Vanessa? Or she just thought he did? I know people always say "it's just a soap" but the way mental illness is portrayed on soaps (and that goes for pretty much all of them) has always been not great, especially PPD. They practically turned Claire into The Joker. She also was trying to seduce men. (I notice that now Mary Ryan Munisteri is listed as co HW with Ryder in the 1986 episodes, Claire has calmed down a lot. Never thought her GL career was very good but seems like she tried to course correct that a bit).
    • sss Ms. Tunie is a goddess. I feel all the anger, pride, sadness, arrogance, dignity, fear, love, and other emotions in everything she does as Anita.
