No, that was two-three weeks ago.

This was:

Amber/Kevin in the courtroom

Phyllis destroying Sharon's room

Sharon and Nick having sex

Noah and Eden having sex

That was also the Monday after Easter. Some universities and schools did not have classes on that Monday.

I don't know....I mean you clearly are correct about the trend (diminishing viewership over the week). Is the end of the week busier? Do more people stay home sick/take vacation days on Monday? Your guess is as good as mine.

The question is whether we're getting to the point that Chris Goutman has advocated...fewer days. Should the Thurs/Fri episodes be cancelled, or substituted with re-broadcasts?

My first thought is that the soaps should get rid of the Friday episodes. Rebroadcasting Monday's episode would be a good idea. Before making such a huge decision, I would like to see the trends of the regional daily ratings. It may be that the ABC soaps are doing well on Fridays in the big media markets and it is huge drops in the CBS soaps in the south causing the decline by the end of the week.If it was across board, I would definitely get rid of Friday's episode.

You know I am huge proponent of experimenting with the telenovela format. I think Night Shift was the first step in the right direction. Now that GL is gone, CBS would be smart to experiment with a seasonal daytime soap serial that airs 3 or 4 times a week. I still think that women in that favored demo are more likely to watch a soap serial than a game or talk show.

I'm officially stepping off ratings watch to ask if Toups is okay. Usually we've heard from him by now even if its just to say "get off my back."

I hope he's ok, too. Maybe he hit his head somewhere and has amnesia and thinks he's James Reilly. :o

CBS had preemptions on Wednesday and Thursday. The archbishop in NYC and the return of the Captured Captain. We all know that it only takes a small disruption to affect the antiquated Nielsen ratings.

Thanks Toups. For the record I kept telling myself that you'd won the lottery and you'd eventually log on from an internet cafe in Rio.

CBS must be very pleased that Y&R's women 18-49 demo is trending upwards. Will it continue? GH's women 18-49 demo continues to trend downwards. ABC cannot be pleased. Let's see if they can stabilize during sweeps.

GOOD NEWS!

For the first time in over a month, I will have region or local ratings for the soaps for Tuesday April 21, 2009. Some interesting stuff came out of those ratings. They will include the TOP 30 markets and some other ones. I will post just a sample of them in this thread and the rest of them in the April 20-24, 2009 ratings thread.
