Why is anyone surprised? I swear, I can't recall nulilLucy having even one scene with BigLucy or her Aunt Lily, and she's been around for months.

LOL...I nearly laughed at two things today....Parker's managing to outwit Craig (for the time being) and Jack busting Janet's hypocrisy. While it's a stretch to say I enjoy the adults running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to bust up Parker and Lib, it's freakin' Shakespeare compared to the baby plot.

And I hate how Craig shoves a glass into Carly's hand as she protests she doesn't want a drink.

As for the baby plot...the only good things are getting to see Kim and Henry. Brad, Katie and V are all delusional and boring.

The Carly/Jack/Janet/Craig stuff was actually funny today. I hate Parker so much.

The whole baby plot was so predictable from the beginning that it is so boring to watch. Who didnt see it coming??

I love the Luke/Noah conflict over Zac and Zoe. (I side with Noah on this one.)

I love Luke showing his immature side, causing concern to Noah and Lily -- yet more proof that the show portrays Luke as gray, not all good.

OMG Dusty today, "save three lives"? Really? And Lucy going on and on about the "FGA" and her "mission" for the starving children, which I'm 95% certain is just a cover story, annoys me too. Lucy said Dusty is the same as Paul, I actually think he is getting *worse* than Paul. At least Paul is not so self-righteous about his immoral actions.

Meg is suddenly watchable again. I like how she chose not to rat Paul out to the social worker. I like that Paul fell for it too. And I like that she is refusing Dusty's help. However, let's see how long this lasts before she changes her mind again and goes flying back to Dusty.

Lisa/Damian had scenes when he returned in 2006, and Goutman/Passanante were in charge then too.

I think they will have scenes eventually, just don't know when. I agree with P.J. that it is also annoying that Lucy has not had scenes with Lily/Lucinda/Luke yet either. More than that, it was frustrating that they didn't even care when she was in town and out of town again in December.

All My Shadows, I liked the Z twins their first and second days but I didn't like them today. Less memorable lines, too much "Z" "Z", too much trust of them by Luke. I am waiting for a new layer to their relationship and story. And I am waiting for Casey and Jade to get involved in this story.

I swear by the sign of Z there have never been two more annoying twits on this show. EVER.

Ugh. Remember when Damian was hot with a capital H??? I don't know if it was just the camera angles today or what...but today he looks like a pencil-necked geek in a suit two sizes too big.

Luke the hypocrite's back in full force today. Didn't he get his panties in a twist over that "prank" video Kevin's manager did during the election? What the Z's did to Damian was the exact same thing. Yet, that's okay, because he's "got to remind himself everyday not to trust Damian". WTFever.

    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.
    • I just watched some parts of an episode of GL where Roger has just been shot by Holly. Rita then admits to Hillary that Roger raped her. Kasdorf is such a fantastic actress. I wish there were more of her work available.
    • -- Alex Alegria has almost a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and a large tatt on one pec. I see no indication that the show is covering up his ink,
    • Didn't Carrie2 even seduce a minor? Ick. Oh, yeah, and she even tried to seduce Alan, but this was his post-prison era when he was trying to prove to everyone he had changed. It's funny that of all people he didn't go for it. Wait. Josh had an affair with Vanessa? Or she just thought he did? I know people always say "it's just a soap" but the way mental illness is portrayed on soaps (and that goes for pretty much all of them) has always been not great, especially PPD. They practically turned Claire into The Joker. She also was trying to seduce men. (I notice that now Mary Ryan Munisteri is listed as co HW with Ryder in the 1986 episodes, Claire has calmed down a lot. Never thought her GL career was very good but seems like she tried to course correct that a bit).
    • sss Ms. Tunie is a goddess. I feel all the anger, pride, sadness, arrogance, dignity, fear, love, and other emotions in everything she does as Anita.
    • You're right. People like me who stuck with her, did so because of her history. The show just skated her along with no story,  no goal, no aim. Right again! This is who I forgot before. When you describe her, it makes me appreciate her more. Thinking back I loved Mandy.
    • Maybe Guza is becoming Y&R Head writer and Jilly will be named EP! Remember CBS installed Latham as consultant and later Mal Young, both of whom took over the show. Of course, they each got credit during the consulting days.
    • Don't forget Carrie, who as Carrie2 was screwing everything in pants, and PPD Reva, who to either get back at Josh for his supposed affair with Vanessa (or just to prove she's more desirable than Van) tries to screw half the male population.
    • Post-production isn't exactly akin to sweeping the floors, but it makes more sense given her CV.  And, it would invalidate any concerns that she has an undo influence on the creative process, as opposed to visual and sound design of the show.  In fact, given her interests, it makes sense that she would want to consult and see the impact of newer technology in a post-production facility.  I could only imagine how much has changed in sound technology since she worked on SB, and that might be intriguing to utilize. As well as their impending move (not as soon as B&B, but we all know it will happen) and helping set up post-production at the new facility.
    • The last five or so episodes of season 8 after the Jean Hackney story ended were pretty strong with the Laura/Val friendship breakdown, Ben's PTSD with Val trying to help him, and the start of Jill realizing that Val was as much of a threat to her happiness with Gary as Abby was. I always thought that the Jean Hackney story should have ended at mid season at the latest... and then deal with the fall-out because seeing Ben/Val switch roles with Ben in mental decline instead of Val would have been interesting to explore.  And seeing Val and Laura's friendship suffer also was interesting and should have been explored especially with Karen caught in the middle and Abby both intrigued and amused at the conflict that she didn't cause. However, season 8 was the only Latham run season where Val was well written.
