Members SFK Posted March 18, 2009 Members Share Posted March 18, 2009 Big-auburn-haired, fur-clad, penthouse-livin' Dorian Lord circa 1993-1997. I a*DOR*ed her, the DID and what I call "The Lord Saga" (Todd/Irene/David/Tina/Viki/Sloane/ghost Victor/Dorian) is my favorite s/l of all time. Dorian was my favorite player. The character hasn't been as wonderful since. I never thought I could love a character as much as my first love, Erica Kane. Erica is my heart, she tickles me, I can't help but grin whenever she tosses that hair or turns, exhales, and runs her hands down her sides whenever the doorbell rings. Adam/Stuart when DC was at the top of his game could not be beat. David playing Stuart playing Adam/Adam playing Stuart, I'm getting choked up... Victor Newman, I dream of being that cool. Phil Carey was so infinitely watchable, he just filled the screen, literally/figuratively. I loved when he'd barrel into a room, you were always in for a treat. Michael Zaslow, so effortlessly cool. Lanky as all hell and totally man, I loved that, he was an inspiration... you don't have to look like AHHnowld to be dangerous and intimidating. I never saw much of these ladies first run, I've come to appreciate them from old tapes, but WOW, Beverlee McKinsey as Iris on AW (not so much as Alex on GL I'll admit, I think she was pretty tired by that point and Alex was a much more mellow character that didn't *pop* like Iris). Ms. McKinsey was an ACTRESS, no two ways about it, like Harding Lemay said, she acted semi-colons. You must see her on AW, it's like filet mignon to today's hamburger. And Marj Dusay, the actress more than any character, she and Robin have that *pop*. Her ALex is what drew me into GL, I didn't even realize at first that she was Myrna from my grandmother's story Capitol. I could listen to Ms. Dusay read the phone book, and I am SO glad that she was blessed with Vanessa on AMC because she got to play all of her strengths, she is a comedienne at heart. Jill Foster (Deborah Adair) I loved her interpretation of Jill from 80-83 Jill Foster (Jess Walton) She has made the role her own.Any scene Jill is in is one worth watching. I so well remember when Diana thought she was knocked up by Phil Brewer and her bright idea was to induce a miscarriage by falling off a chair while changing a lightbulb. For weeks, it seemed, there were close-ups of her hand reaching for said lightbulb, then the chair teetering, then the organ music swelled as she shed copius tears, then more teetering.
