Members Faulkner
I LOVED ATWT's '80s theme. The 93-99 theme just screamed feminine hygiene commercial to me. Oh It can't be...!!" "WELL HERE I COME TO GET IT!!!!!!!" -WAIT MS. LUCCI!!! WAIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed my ass off. I really wonder how far out on the stage Lucci walked out before being stopped!! Susan Flannery, god bless her, would have bulldozed her off the stage!!! I got to go track down that priceless moment on Youtube- Was it 2003 or something?

Members bellcurve
LOL. This is why we need the Emmys on television. For moments like this. God bless Dick Clark and his crappy production company. ETAL: I can't stop laughing. OMG. LOL.
Members Jonathan
Oh, I didn't like this theme at all. It always scared the sh*t out of me. The music reminded me of a sci-fi horror flick. I much prefer the theme that followed this, the one with the views of nature. That theme song was so soothing. Members All My Shadows
I was actually talking about when Looch really did win lol I feel so bad for my girl there. Whoever was in charge of the music was really the #1 person to blame. Susan knew damn well that they said Flannery, but they lied to her.

SUSAN WAS TOTALLY OUT ON THE STAGE!!!! It didn't help that those two idiots from B&B could barely spit it out coherently they were so excited. Damn that is some funny stuff in a twisted way!! Members Jonathan
OK, so I'm going to tie this all in and try to get this thread back on topic. Wasn't there a Guiding Light opening theme that featured dancing Emmys? Or Emmys blowing trumpets? Something weird like that?
Members rangethatrover
Thank you Faulkner- I don't why I find it so funny!! Thanks for posting. I will watch once a day until I die- Its that good!!! La Looch didn't do anything wrong at all!! It was dumb Rosie saying "You won girl!" Go get your SECOND emmy girl!!" I love the deer in the headlights look as Susan takes the stage!!!!! Oh my god I can't breathe.
Members All My Shadows
LMAO! The only one I know is that they had a rotating Emmy in its close for a while way back in the day. Speaking of which, kinda sorta, ATWT and GL had such majestic closing credits in the 90s. I loved how GL's always ended with Roger's picture. And also, the sassy announcer who did all of the promos for CBS soaps. LOVED him, with all of his "Girl..." and "What is you gon' do."
Members Y&RWorldTurner
No. But there was a closing that featured the Emmy they won in 1981 at the end spinning around BRIEFLY. This is a very bad quality video, but here it is, I always LOVED this theme music though: Here's the opening that goes with this close. I think Bridget Dobson once said that they would try to write a good tag before the opening came on and then it would "flash to the thing with the dead leaves." Members Y&RWorldTurner
LOVED that too Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjcJgWhiV7Y Embedding isn't allowed for this video. I miss the early 90's... And of course we know what the announcer meant when he said "Ed and Maureen Bauer are gonna give their marriage vows a dramatic new meaning, Monday on Guding Light!"....
