January 24, 200917 yr Member I wonder who will win an Oscar for original screenplay. The adapted one will go to Slumdog. Kind of wide open, but I am going to guess Milk or Wall-E. Edited January 24, 200917 yr by Adam
January 24, 200917 yr Member I just saw Slumdog Millionare and it was freaking amazing! It deserves all the accolades and Oscar buzz it's receiving. And may I say that I'm THRILLED that Marisa Tomei landed her third Best Supporting Actress nomination. I hope she wins.

Many viewed her win for My Cousin Vinny a fluke..... but she really has had an amazing, low key career. I really love her.
January 30, 200917 yr Member A R Rahman to perform live at the Oscars The Mozart of Madras will perform a live concert at Oscar Awards function in America. Close on the heels of winning the coveted Golden Globe award for his music score in Slumdog Millionaire, Rahman has managed clinch not one but three Oscar nominations for his score in the film. The Oscar Award function is to be held Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre. Sukwindher Singh will sing the song Jai Ho. A R Rahman has informed this to Sukwindher Singh and asked him to be ready. Sukwindher said that singing in the concert is not a new thing but singing at the Oscars is a big thing. Gulzar who wrote the lyrics will also attend the Oscars. It is also pertinent to note that the song Chaya Chaya sung by Sukwindher Singh and composed by A R Rahman was the title song of the Hollywood film Inside Man which had Denzel Washington in the lead.
January 30, 200917 yr Member That's sure to make some in the audience roll their eyes. LOL! Jai Ho can be such an annoying song. I wonder if Dev and Freida will do the little dance segement to the song that the did in the Slumdog Millionaire end credits. LOL! Edited January 30, 200917 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
January 30, 200917 yr Member I think Meryl's charming speech at the SAG awards will win her the Oscar. That same audience will be voting and a speech like that will be remembered. I am a huge Kate Winslet fan- but her Golden Globes speeches will be her undoing I predict. I would love her to win for The Reader, and I would also love Melissa Leo to be the dark horse winner. I am also pulling for Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler- I loved that film. Marissa Tomei is awesome as well. Sean Penn will probably take it.

February 22, 200917 yr Member My Predicitions: PICTURE: Slumdog Millionaire DIRECTOR: Danny Boyle ACTOR: Mickey Rourke ACTRESS: Kate Winslet SUPPORTING ACTOR: Heath Ledger SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Penelope Cruz ANIMATED FEATURE: Wall-E Edited February 22, 200917 yr by jcar03
February 23, 200917 yr Member Please don't let Penelope Cruz win, she will start to think that she can actually act.
February 23, 200917 yr Member Looks like they are going against tradition and having past winners give the award out instead of last years opposite gender give the award out (Supporting Actor to Supporting Actress).
February 23, 200917 yr Author Administrator I thought Hugh was great in the opening. Very funny. "I'm Wolverine!!!!!"
