AMC: SOD Spoilers

Credit goes to Betty for posting these at Soapcentral:

Kendall emerges from her coma, w/ Greens & Bianca at her bedside, & has to process that she's been in a coma for three months, that her dead brother's heart is beating in her, & also that Babe & Myrtle are dead...and later on about Zach & the baby. Alicia Minshew thinks fans will like the tender Zach/Kendall reunion. Zach brings Reese in to meet Kendall, & Bianca tells Kendall that Zach is Gabrielle's father. Kendall reacts almost TOO calmly, concerning everyone.

Laila Williams appears as Reese's mom for the 1/29 baby shower...Anna Stuart (Mary Smythe) also attends the bridal shower, & has been booked for a February episode.

Kathy goes missing & Tad is desperate to find her...Ryan tries to calm Greens' fears about their impending wedding...

Erica causes trouble at Bianca, Reese, & Greenlee's shower...Reese faces her mom...Zendall share a romantic reunion...

A viewer thinks Rylee are a sexy couple worth rooting for...2 anti-David comments in MailBag, as well as a viewer noting that too many scenes are happening in PV hospital...

An editor laments the destruction of Bianca/Reese's s/l, by having Zach inexplicably thrown into the mix sharing flirtatious moments w/ Reese & having him be the father of Bianca's baby...David's return was likewise botched...

I wouldn't say David's return was botched.

WHAAAAT --- Mary Smythe is back???? LOVES IT.

Interested to see Kathy/Tad too.

I would definitely say David's return was botched. Pratt has isolated his character, and Pratt's going overboard with David a smidge.

Well of course Bianca & Greenlee are at Kendall's side when she awakens. Pratt just pulled a McTavish

Oh Bianca's definitely was. Even the soap mags have said as much on that.

So Bianca dumps all of this on a woman who just comes out of a coma? What a selfish twit. Way to go Pratt, keep piling it on with Bianca.

Oh Pratt is not going overboard with David. You have watched AMC in the past when David was actually on the show, right? David is acting like David - nothing has changed. Until there is another Libidizone, I don't think anyone can say he's near overboard.

Wow, Why is Kendall so calm about the baby? Doesn't sound like Kendall, maybe she has changed, but how so? Interesting.

I am actually interested in Kendall's change in personality. Hopefully it'll be enjoyable to watch and make me love Kendall again. Before the coma, I was seriously hating on Kendall for all her anti-Annie, Rylee pimping, meddling mess. The coma was a nice breather from Kendall - so hopefully her new personality will be fun.

Well not JUST Bianca. Bianca and Greenlee and Zach all tell Kendall what happened while she was out. What are they supposed to do? Bring her up to speed on the episodes of Heroes she missed?

I think David's return has definitely been flawed. Ever since he got back he's been dangerously close to Lex Luthor territory. Walking around railing about the cursed Martins, cooking up magic drugs, pimping out Amanda. Everything but building a kryptonite robot. Yes I know he's been like this before and it was tiresome then.

There's a time and a place to tell Kendall, not after she wakes from a coma and just had a heart transplant. Pratt's dumbed Bianca down since she returned

The stuff with Krystal is pretty darn close, and this from someone who HATES Krystal

I so love that the mags continue to call out Pratt on this stupidity. It's disgusting that a core character like Bianca has been reduced to being a prop in what was her own storyline at one time

That's exactly it! He's bordering on Lex Luthor territory.

It's hard to judge with David, I think. There is a fine line with him, between gray scaled character and cartoon villain. He's definitely leaning toward the later from the bits I've seen and have read. Pratt is writing dark David in character, I agree there. But he's not writing gray scaled David enough, at all. What makes David a viable character is the fact that their are people who can pull at his heart strings, ie. Erica, Bianca, Greenlee, Little A Yet, Pratt isn't letting anyone do so. He keeps him dark, keeps him isolated from anyone that might make him stop, take a breath, and actually risk using his heart.

I saw glimpses of it when David first saved Kendall, and Bianca ran to him to hugged him. That was David. His face changed. His whole body and demeanor softened, and the walls around his heart crumbled a bit.

If Pratt doesn't continue to let that happen with him, there's nothing left that's redeeming about him. :( There's nothing to make us want to root for him, and without that, he's not David.

I am a major Dr. Dave fan and agree with this assessment though I do find some of gray scale David. Just not enough for me to feel he's quite the same. But I don't think we've seen one thing OOC about his since he's been here except for the coldness to the Kanes maybe. He's drugged before, schemed before, played hospital politics and gone after Joe Martins COS job before, went after the Martins and Chandlers before, felt the need to blame others for and get revenge in the name of a dead daughter before. Nothing OOC as far as I can see. Just darker and less showing of his heart and humor to others. I guess that could be considered a flaw, but it's really just David in Pratt's darker PV. As many botched returns as I have seen on AMC over recent years, David's does NOT rank with them, imo. Dixie this last time for example, Bianca and Zarf/Zoe, a lot of people found Maria's returned botched but I didn't mind it terribly.

I think there have been missteps but I don't think that Bianca and Reese have been destroyed by any means. There's still story to play out. I still don't believe Reese and Zach are going to happen, jmo. Maybe it will all go to hell but I am in no way prepared to make some kind of final judgment on the story though I know some have.

I think David is being portrayed well. David always goes off the deep end on certain things - his obsessions. I see David as a grieving father who is trying to make up for what he feels was done to Babe. Also I think secretly he is battling that he wasn't there for Babe either and rather than face that he is after everyone else he thinks failed Babe.

I have never once rooted for David. I love to hate him and love to watch him swrew with people's lives.

Some of the criticisms that are put upon Pratt I take with a grain of salt from who they come from. Every SOD lately has had a letter from a Zendell fan complaining or saying how much they miss Kendall/Zendall. that is fine but anyone on a message board knows they don't like any of this. They are biased because he is screwing with them - so criticism from taht stand point doesn't mean anything - to me. Sorry but it doesn't.

I just wish Frons would not listen but he is a fool and thinks the fan bases and certain ages are the most important and has the attitude that the rest can be screwed. And he just keeps screwing us over.

All I have to say to him is that viewers are finally coming back to the show because the show has been balanced. The show is about more than one person or a group of people for a change. Ratings are stabilitzing and are up from last year. General fans of the show are happy and feel hopeful.

If he screws with that and takes AMC back to the dark side of the sextette and Kendall/Zendall domination then this viewer and many others will leave and never return.

These spoilers sound okay to me but there is way too much concentration on Kendall in them. I hope that is just temporary.

There are probably some that feel the same about your opinion, that your opinions are biased based on hate for characters, fanbases. It happens.

I agree. I loved David under McTavish and the writers before her and I was completely excited about getting him back. Now? Meh. Vincent is awesome, but David? Meh. He's too dark too much here, it's crap for the sake of crap. David used to be written with more layers and vulneribility and now it's just like there's nothing much there under the surface. It's just thisside of cartoonish.

I like that Mary is back. I think Anna Stuart should come aboard and join the cast. She is wonderful as Greenlee's mother and she has chemistry with David Canary, Susan Lucci, Walt Wiley, and Robin Strasser (loved when Dorian Crossover to meet with Adam). Who is the actress playing Reese's mother?
