September 30, 200916 yr Member I guess we won't know until their names appear in February but I wonder who will be directing AMC in LA? Will it be JHC's people from Port Charles (e.g. Jill Ackles, Andrew Lee....I guess she won't be able to get Scott McKinsey from GH and sadly Francesca James lives in New York), Lisa de Cazotte's people from Passions (e.g. Karen Wilkens, Peter Brinckeroff) or, god help us, Pratt's out-of-work prime time friends (e.g whoever directed Melrose Place and Models Inc). Or maybe to keep costs down even more they'll hire a couple of newbies with very short resumes. Maybe some of the NY directors will commute too? Or what about Shelley Curtis? I'm still rallying for George Becket as AMC's Designer. But knowing how "on the cheap" ABC is, they'll probably get Chip Dox to do design.

Francesca lives in NY now? I thought she was LA based and that's why she's not a full time director. Andrew Lee's on contract at Y&R.

I thought she was LA based and that's why she's not a full time director. Andrew Lee's on contract at Y&R. Ah, didn't know Lee was on contract. Thanks. I thought FJ was in LA as well, and that Carruthers let her direct an episode or two whenever she happened to be in New York. But according to her Facebook profile she's in New York. Which means all this time Carruthers could have been using her more, unless that's all FJ wanted to do. I have to admit I kind of hope Conal O'Brien and Casey Childs and Steven Williford don't commute and direct a cluster of episodes at a time. The directing on AMC has been been lacking (at best) for a long time now. The exception, of course, is Angela Tessinari.

October 7, 200916 yr Member AMC should finally get rid of Rebecca Taylor and bring back Courtney Simon.
October 7, 200916 yr Member AMC should finally get rid of Rebecca Taylor and bring back Courtney Simon. Taylor has to have a friend/relative somewhere high up the ranks at ABC. She has survived way too many regime changes. She even survived McTavish's return and McTavish always gets rid of the people who joined the show in her absence (which Taylor did..I think?), be they actors or writers. Even Richard Culliton didn't get rid of her and, while his headwriting abilities can be debated, Culliton did build a top notch script team, except for Taylor.

Taylor actually became a SW during McTavish's second run (towards the end). She left during the tail end of Jean Passanante's run, was gone a year, and then brought back during the middle of Culliton's run.

I thought she joined when Agnes Nixon and Elizabeth page were co-headwriting. I knew she had left and came back when Culliton was HW, but I can't understand why he would bring her back. Whatever his flaws Culliton has a good ear for dialogue.
October 10, 200916 yr Member David Kreizman has continued to be credited as David Kriezman every day so far. I'm not sure why. Edited October 10, 200916 yr by jfung79
