The writing really needs to tighten for Heather (and maybe Adam, too) significantly. And Vail Bloom has GOT to develop more. Being half of an admittedly chemistry-full couple does not make a character. Heather has to be established more (shades of what we saw earlier, with the submissive Heather was fun).

ITA. ;)

Man. I had to laugh at the way Michael kind of.. screeched at his father. The scenes there weren't bad, but that was just a bit much and it made me laugh. I do like this storyline with Michael and his father, though. I really hope they're keeping River on long term with how they're developing him as a bit more of a conman type of thing and see how his relationship with Eden goes from there since he was basically using her. It's not the best, no, and it's had it's ups and downs, but I've enjoyed the characters involved.

I think in the past they would have edited that out and reshot that scene, but nowadays it is one take and move on. That was a long scene and they probably weren't willing to reshoot the whole thing. It still was good drama and I felt for Michael. Some may question why Michael covered for Gloria and not his father but River is a stranger who abandoned him and now has used him. I think Michael hates that covering for Gloria has put his own family at risk and he is not about to do that again.

I guess since it doesn't effect the storyline, it's free for me to say here that Vail Bloom isn't leaving Y&R, as confirmed by her publicists. Plus, Chris Engen's representative said the same thing. Looks like it was only a rumor! Yay! ;)

Oh, this is good news.

What is the source on the Engen representation quotes?

But yeah, the Winters and Baldwins are boring me. I am not a Gloria fan at all. I am not really a fan of the actress's acting style either. She is just too MUCH. And not in a good way. And as far as Tyra Banks Winters- I hate when a show pimps a character that the audience doesn't like. You can feel the awkwardness - I am talking Tyra Banks Winters. I just don't FEEL her. She is a sorry subsitute for Rowell IF that is the intention. I am loving Olivia being back though. She is ageless and I am enjoying her more than I though I would. They need a good old fashioned bitch in this Winters storyline. Someone to cause trouble. Tyra is just too icky sweet and icky boring. Let Olivia be the stalwart noble one in that family.

Those two families are definitely the weak points of the show. The Baldwins have potential; I'm liking Gloria as a schemer and a supporting character. But I couldn't give a shite about River/Lowell or Eden. And Michael/Lauren need some shaking up.

The Winters are just a mess. And you're right...Tyra just isn't working at all. I think Karen could be a great heroine; Nia Peeples has impressed me with her talent. But you're right - the Winters need a nasty, straight-up triflin' mega bitch to add some conflict.

As for Olivia, they need to give her something to do other than being a busybody. TLW can do the soapy drama. And yep, she looks marvelous.

I love Nia Peeples too.

You're right and I just don't see the Tyra character as being the Dru replacement TPTB are hoping for.

Well, I'm disappointed. Nothing against either actor, but Heather annoys me and Adam has become the Scrappy-Doo of the Newman family.

Soaps.com claims they've spoken to his representative.

Eva Marcille should go to B&B where she could be Marcus's ex.

Meanwhile, TLW should get a contract. Nia Peeples and Tonya in scenes together = awesome.

OMG!

The ending of today's show was my favorite scene Y&R has shown in a LONG time....... :D

I wish someone could get a screen shot of the scene where Gloho is posing for her mugshot.......

Haha Kevin just threw Orange juice on Jefferey's mark from the face cream.

How nice is it to have an Eden that isn't screetching at all?

GOOD show! Now I have to wonder, "Did Victor REALLY kill Walter Palin?" And because of the tampering from Adam/Jack, does that mean he will get off free? Enjoyed the ending, Vail Bloom did good today. A little part of me felt sorry for Gloria, but then I remembered what I had to endure to get here and it all went away.
