As mentioned and predicted, the Beltway is lashing out against the Democrats. Kasie Hunt is a former MSNBC anchor who recently joined CNN.

And Kasie Hunt has been mocked relentlessly all night and her negative ratio is at 2K and climbing.

Some (not all) sectors of the media seem loathe to admit that California Republicans essentially wasted huge amounts of the state's money to front this recall election, with ridiculously foppish and unserious candidates. These same media entities also seem loathe to admit that the recall has been rejected in what looks to be a landslide.

Great use of public resources in a pandemic.🙄 Wasn't the Republican party supposed to be the party of fiscal conservatism? I guess that's only when it comes to the lower income classes.

For all the squawking about right-wing zealots taking over Europe and possibly Latin America, it sure seems like there has been a decidedly left-ward turn in politics over the last two years. While America and parts of Great Britain may be willfully blind about the disaster that is Trumpism, it would appear that much of the world has decided to veer away from that direction.

Wasn't Norway supposed to be full of right-winger in charge by now? 🙄

Some in the media are spinning this recall as a "success" for Larry Elder.

To average person this looks like Elder only lost because he didn't win SF but in reality he only got 43% (currently 46) of 36.7% who voted for  yes for recall and 16% of the total vote.

Thank goodness I don't watch some media, because that sounds pretty desperate to me.

Uh, yes, the recall failed very very quickly last night. It was done long ago.

NBC called it less than an hour after the polls closed. Totally anticlimactic.

You have a better attitude than I do on this subject. Maybe I am down because I just finished watching the gymnasts testify to the Senate about the FBI failures in the Nassar cases. It's hard to know who can be trusted in government, especially now.
