What matters is she humiliated Trump and came out of this unquestionably looking very strong - and they will report that. That is very important for us going forward. Members DRW50 Posted December 11, 2018 Members Share Posted December 11, 2018 The problem with Trump saying he wants a shutdown being a 'gift' for Democrats, as some are saying, is that to Trump's supporters, it is a good thing. The GOP will also see it as a good thing, as they can blame Democrats. And many of those who voted for Democrats this November will likely say that nothing has changed and Democrats taking power hasn't improved Washington, or they are being too stubborn, etc. With that said, Pelosi and Schumer have no choice but to go to a shutdown rather than accept his crap, or continue what Schumer was doing where he was trying to say that a border wall is fine just with less money attached. Nor will most of the public. The polling is already against him, especially on a shutdown. Now Pelosi has him on tape and has it hung around his neck.
