That's a Hill article which means it's got at least a 40% chance of being right wing clickbait.

It absolutely is clickbait, but that doesn't make it wrong  45 has been polling at about a 40% approval rating for months. Given the things he's done and said, I find that horrifying.

A good portion of the population seems to be in denial about the Russia investigation. But then who am I to talk? I probably need one of those little shock devices smokers used back in the day.  Every time I start to be surprised that Trump has so many followers I need to shock myself out of denial.

It's like what marceline and others have said: none of the scandals swirling around him mean anything to his base.  Those people see him as their last stab at relevancy.  Ergo, they are ready to ride off the nearest cliff with him.

Perhaps he was drinking when he declared Trump to be healthy?

Presumably the 90 days is for DHS to explain why they believe DACA to be unlawful, so the onus is now on DHS to come up with an explanation for their position because their stance right now, basically makes no sense.

So is the 40% number a hard line?  It's scary to think what Trump would have to do to lose the support of these people.

He could murder each and every one of 'em, and they all would travel to the gates of Hell singing his praises.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of Republicans who are anti-Trump no longer identify as Republicans. They've started calling themselves independents. So that 40 percent is a portion of a smaller and smaller whole.
