quoting excerpt from
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America
July 4, 1776

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

(I know SON has an international readership.
fyi, for international readers, this is an excerpt from the "Declaration of Independence" - from the 13 British colonies of America, declaring their independence from England, and listing the reasons why King George was corrupt.).
This document is considered the birthday of the USA.

The original #NoKings statement from 1776.

NPR (National Public Radio) had a tradition of reading aloud the entire Declaration on July 4th, and had been doing this for a couple of decades regardless of who was president.
In 2017, NPR tweeted out the entire Declaration on July 4th.
This was during Tr*mp's first term as President.
Hilariously/sadly, some of his supporters had no idea what this was and complained that it was propaganda attacking him. I mean, it's objectively about King George but. . . .

I never thought, and I don't think anyone here in Sweden thought, that one of the first military things we would do when we joined NATO was to send military personnel to discourage an attack on a NATO ally by another NATO ally. It's insane! 😵‍💫

That being said, I'm actually proud that we participate in this together with, among others, Norway, France, Canada and the Netherlands. I'm so tired of the the big orange pile of turd and his entourage of nazis, psychopaths and plain idiots. 😡

Wait, you mean to tell me the world's about to [!@#$%^&*] implode over GREENLAND!?!?

I guess Erik the Red will have his revenge after all.

Greenland was the idea of the owner of Estée Lauder, the cosmetics company. The owner and sole heir to that fortune, Ronald Lauder.
He wanted to make money from mining mineral deposits in Greenland, and he suggested it to Tr*mp during Tr*mp's first term. Lauder managed to suggest it in a way that Tr*mp bought into the idea, and now considers it to be his own idea.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/15/ronald-lauder-billionaire-donor-donald-trump-ukraine-greenland

Like many of those around the president, Lauder’s policy suggestions appear to intersect with his business interests. As Trump has ratcheted up his threats to seize Greenland, Lauder has acquired commercial holdings there. Lauder is also part of the consortium whose desire to access Ukrainian minerals appears to have spurred Trump to demand a share of the war-torn country’s resources.

Lauder has said he met Trump in the 1960s when they went to the same prestigious business school.

Lauder wrote a letter or column in the New York Post in February 2025

“Trump’s Greenland concept was never absurd – it was strategic,” Lauder wrote in the New York Post (February 2025). He went on: “Beneath its ice and rock lies a treasure trove of rare-earth elements essential for AI, advanced weaponry and modern technology. As ice recedes, new maritime routes are emerging, reshaping global trade and security.”

With Greenland at “the epicentre of great-power competition”, Lauder argued, the US should seek a “strategic partnership”. He added: “I have worked closely with Greenland’s business and government leaders for years to develop strategic investments there.”

Tr*mp claims Venezuela was about drugs, but it's about oil.

Tr*mp claims Greenland is about national security, but it's about minerals.

It's all about money and greed.
