I had someone tell me when we first heard that Kamala was going to be the Dem nominee, that if they didn't elect a white woman for president they damn sure was going to elect a black one.

I remember when my Dad told me that Joe Biden dropped out. My first words were, "The Democrats just made a huge mistake!"

But my Dad was hopeful since donations were huge.

But my gut knew from that moment we were doomed, even as I prayed I was wrong.

Man... I honestly don't know what I'm going to do if I end up losing my Social Security and Medicare. I have issues with anxiety and depression and I can't work and I'm also disabled. If things get really bad there's a good possibility that I probably won't be living for too much longer. I know my parents won't and they're already getting on in years.

For what it's worth, I just checked, and the AP still has not called the race. But it's only a matter of time. All outstanding states being waited upon are shaded light red. So...

It's a damn shame that too many of my fellow white males can't except women or people of color in positions of power. 

I don't think Biden would have won either.  Trump has a unique appeal to a certain segment of the population. 

I hope we still have a democracy in 4 years.

White Women let the Democrats down again in 2024 just like they did in 2016. Misogyny, and racism exist and they benefit from one from one of them. They are white first.

All the work Joe Biden put into repairing our reputation with the world...and now, the world will again know we cannot be counted on. Because the "Ugly American" really does exist.

It was also the unpredictable Hispanic vote - the Democrats lost traction with Hispanic males in this election, they need to do a postmortem on why that happened and why Trump resonated so strongly with that group this time around.

Well, I hope the Hispanic vote consoles them when the very POS they voted for gets ready to deport them. Because they are not lily-white, so Donnie has no use for them.

I would not have voted for his ass, since he is a bonafide fúcking lunatic, but I wonder - had Worm Brain been the Dem nominee - if he would have actually won with this idiot electorate?

There have been a number of articles on this since 2020, mainly speaking of how he appeals to their machismo and many think of themselves as white, so they won't be affected by deportations. I would guess Stephen Miller wants many of them out of this country, but even if that starts happening, I am not sure he will lose support. He is teflon. The only question is if the hatemongers bankrolling him want to put the brakes on so they can win when he's gone or if they know they can just make sure we never have real elections again.

Of course, articles aren't enough - I agree a postmortem is needed. A complete upheaval of the leadership and structure of the party is long overdue. 

I think back to 2012 when Republicans decided to completely ignore their postmortem and won. But Republicans always get what they want.

It’s revolting that Trump will also have a GOP controlled House and Senate once again in his hands. This election was a travesty, and history is repeating itself in the absolute worst way possible.
