From what I'm reading, it is being said that Republicans are regretting using a sex crimes prosecutor to do the questioning as they believe it has had disastrous results.

Things likely would've been disastrous for the Republicans of the Senate regardless but now, they have someone else to blame but themselves, I guess.

Anyway, from what I've seen, Dr. Blasey Ford is without doubt credible.  She may have been prepped for this day but she is not rehearsed.  It shows. Regardless of who would do the questioning, I doubt it would've gone any other way.

They'll blame Rachel Mitchell for 'not being tough enough.'

I was fairly sure Kavanaugh was going down before today - I still mostly am - but this is having a public impact today that is bigger than I expected. It's going to be huge in November.

Lindsey Graham is really, really pissed.

I saw that she was also saying that Ford was getting doubts cast onto her little by little. And apparently Chuck Todd was supporting her views (Kelly's).

They are the two most chained to the Beltway so they have to fight the hardest for shilling, as they likely know Kavanaugh is golden no matter what.

I've known what CNN is all about for years now.

That insinuation that somehow Prof. Hill is less worthy of empathy than Prof. Blasey Ford speaks to what we as black women have known all along.  According to some, we are more likely to be sexualized at earlier ages, more likely to be stereotyped as impervious to being hurt or feeling pain.

The KKK's entire ethos was to protect white women so they are seen as worthy of protection, while we black women are not.

Soledad O'Brien can speak to the lack of representation of blacks behind the camera at CNN and it shines through repeatedly.  I cannot emphasize enough how glad I am that I cut the cord about 8 years ago.  CNN does some effective reporting but their staff is severely limited.

"She’s an attractive person."

Pardon me, Sen. Hatch, but what the [!@#$%^&*] does that have to do with anything?  Are you saying she would have been less credible if she'd been as ugly as homemade sin?  Somebody vote this s.o.b. out of office, PLEASE.

Amy Siskind's right: the GOP is failing at this, because they give zero [!@#$%^&*] what goes on in the rest of the world that isn't white, straight or male.

    • That makes sense. Rauch did like to play games, as shown with some of the antics with the Labines. We should make some screencaps.  I can imagine her not being thrilled by much of anything in 1996.
    • I believe he also turned out to be Doug Cassen's son. I could be wrong about that. Yeah, he doesn't get talked about much in the history books.
    • Cady McClain said the same thing with her hairdos - she switched it up so much because she was either unhappy or bored.  Kim must have been unhappy in 1996 because she has so many different short styles, it's wild (haha).
    • She definitely was trying new things with her hair and makeup in the 1986 scenes I saw so it tracks. Rauch wouldn't have been there, but it just strikes me as a conversation Rauch would have had with her with when he was at GL. Rauch loved to badmouth JC. So she put it in the book as if she had been told at the time. It's like how she has Michelle Forbes on GL years before she actually arrives or Ellen Wheeler firing people who had been fired yrs. before by Rauch or Conboy.
    •   From what actors have said, Y&R has been very busy taping the upcoming storyline, and that was up to and including the week of Diamont's party, and after.
    • Well, a good number of sets were up when I was there, but there was a limited number of people around. Even Y&R seemed dead, but maybe everyone was out for lunch at the time? I remember driving from the parking lot and preparing to enter the roadway when I saw Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc returning from what I think was their lunch break. Not sure where they went or were coming from.
    • A scene I cannot wait to see. Julie Harris as Liliemae is the gift that keeps on giving; she's not outright evil, but frustrating, and in her own way, still pretty lovable.
    • Kim used to say that you can tell when she was unhappy because she would try weird or new things with her hair.  I don't think Rauch was at OLTL at the time Zimmer was but their producer at the time probably wasn't much of a peach either.
    • I wonder if less set use was preparing for the move. They probably were preparing for this for awhile now
    • The early part of the season is decent. After that, Season 9 is one of the worst seasons until season 13. Season 10 is a little worse.    That would have made sense, even if it cost us one of my favorite scenes (Ben putting Lilliemae in a headlock). That's an excellent storyline and leads to the show's last strong season finale.
