I agree, her version of Colleen is what we need once again. She had so much on screen chemistry with the cast that it wouldn't matter if the Prof. ever came back but I happened to have liked that storyline.

I wonder why they chose this episode to air? I never would have thought they'd ever show another episode with AL in it.

I did a little checking yesterday, and AL seems to be OFF the map.

She hasn't updated her myspace blog since January 2008.

Her official website lists, as "theatrical representation", an agent firm that (a) was controversial (they required actors to pay for specific photographers and workshops), (B) had a non-SAG contract that required hire commissions of non-SAG actors, © refused to allow their represented actors to CONTACT them under most circumstances; (d) refused to allow actors to list themselves on some common no-charge web clearing houses; (e) required headshots to be "in costume"...against industry practice. Moreover, the agency appears to have broken apart in 2006. On their website, they still list Leon on Y&R as their top success story.

IMDB lists nothing for her post-Y&R.

I find all of this odd for an entertainer still trying to build a career. If it were me, I'd PERSONALLY be maintaining my website like crazy, LOL.

I wonder if she is shifting careers, or if other troubles that we don't know about took her away from Y&R.

Oh well, if she peruses any message boards, she knows she is missed. That might be small comfort, even if it doesn't pay the rent.

Oops, did that seem stalkerish? Yikes.

I started with a legitimate source (IMDB), inspired by the Friday show. When nothing further happened, I checked her official site and her myspace (googling them). That led me into this whole blind alley about her agency.

Sigh...that is my crazy surfing behavior when I am searching for a fact. But now I realize it just made me seem pathological :).

I found the thanksgiving episode to be a bit of a letdown and they should not submit it for an Emmy. While some parts were very good, others were just playing cheesy and I actually expected the Winters to burst into that "Cheese will keep us together, mozzarella and cheddar," song. The worst part for me was Lily who for some reason came off to me as a wannabe socialite at a state dinner rather than a member of the family. I was however very impressed with the actress who plays Anna.

The Chancellor family stuff was good, especially loved Chloe saying, "If I didn't have to use the bathroom every 5 minutes, I would duck tape you to a chair and force you to be waited upon."

Does anyone know if the little baby Victoria and JT were holding is their own baby? Most soap babies that age don't seem very comfortable being held by actors and are often upset or reach out to their parent standing near by.

What we need is a viable Colleen. I personally don't care who plays her. Whatever the reason (acting limitations, writer transition hasn't gotten around to her yet, lack of ideas on the part of the writers), Colleen is horrendously neglected right now. It matters, because the Abbotts are being rebuilt, but their young female lead is missing. It matters because of the historical returns during Kay's funeral...and the viewers were cheated out of a mother-daughter reunion. It matters because, prior to the infamous "firing", the writers were on track to making Colleen an eerie repeat of her mother (weight issues, inappropriate relationship with her professor). Those were all potentially interesting directions...but they just got dropped.

Now, and I am not ascribing blame, the character is an empty cipher with little value.

The writers need to build Colleen into a meaningful female lead on the show. If they feel a recasting is required in order to accomplish this--so be it. I am not picking sides vis-a-vis the actress...but SOMETHING is wrong, and Ifeel it is hurting the show's ability to seed the foundation of the future. We have had so many of the "next generation" members mentioned in recent weeks (Nate, Phillip IV, Mackenzie, Abby). Eventually, each of these characters must return with STUPENDOUS casting (as, IMO, they have accomplished again with Noah and with Billy and with Daniel) to carry the show forward. Colleen is on that list of critical next generation members (unless they want to change the focus of the show).

This actress, with these writers, in these storylines, is not working. Something needs to change. It may be -- regardless of your opinion of the current actress -- that she would be served to move on to creative projects that do her more justice. And the writers might be more inspired by a recast. But something has to change.

Yeah, IA brimike.

And I really think the writers will eventually work their way around to the kids. Concentrating on a select few characters to rebuild is a clever approach, in my eyes, when the fissure in y&r's foundation has been so wide and deep for so long.

I think in 2009, we'll see them reemerge.

And are Abby and Ana gonna be friends? That'd be really cute.

Ooooh, good idea about Abby and Ana.

How old will Abby be? With Noah now 15, being played by a 20-year old, I guess I have assumed Abby would come back around 13, played by an 18 year old. So that WOULD put her right in Ana's orbit!

And, giving Ana a friend...well, that's the kind of thing we need to build that character! Suddenly, we'd see a next-generation continuation of the "Barber/Hastings/Winters" and "Abbott" friendship. Makes perfect sense.

Although I am totally pro-veteran, I confess I'm eager to have the canvas repopulated with younger members of our core families in adolescent and young adult ages. I don't care if they have stories...I just want them "planted" and "grown", so that the show builds for its' future.

I also wanted that for B&B, but I truly fear that show is a lost cause.

I like the idea of 'planting' the next generation. I don't want to see/hear from them till they're in their 20s, at the very least, but having them planted and around throughout the years is very useful and allows for their presence to not be jarring.

I wouldn't ever count B&B out. They are experiencing what they always experience...they'll rebound.
