One board has a rumor posted that Bo and Hope have put cut to recurring. That is from one of their birdies or something like that.

Since that is technically taken off contract that would be a cast cut - esp. since Days does not use it's recurring stars much at all.

I mean to say that if Days has cut Bo/Hope to recurring and does not announce soon after the announcement that Steve/Kayla have been released they are going to have some really outraged fans out there.

Steve/Kayla's returns have been horrible and have done nothing for the show. And to cut the big 4 in favor of keeping them at this point will not bode well at all.

I think Stephen Nichols and MBE are obvious, that's 2.

The other 3........Thaao Penglish, Joe Mascolo....and.......Blake Berris.

Online reports and rumblings over the weekend had made its way on the internet that Jay Kenneth Johnson who plays Phillip on "DAYS" cleared out his dressing room at NBC studios last week, when contract discussions for his renewal apparently broke down. However, an official "DAYS" spokesperson as of Monday afternoon is stating that, "Jay is still Phillip." However, still others online have felt that the role could possible be recast.

During the "A Day of "DAYS" fan event "On-Air On-Soaps" learned from the actor that negotiations were forthcoming between him and the show, but noted that with the impending possible love triangle between Melanie and Stephanie on the horizon, that he hoped he would be sticking around for 2009.

It's sad seeing another soap literally getting its heart ripped out from its chest. This is just all reminds me of what happened to GL in 2005, and we saw how well that turned out. Not to mention, DAYS is the sole soap on NBC of all networks...

Granted I'm no DOOL fan, but you have a point. Didn't the industry learn anything from the GL fiasco over the last 3 years? Isn't it better to have a soap die with some dignity instead of ripping it to shreds before the inevitable? I didn't realize DOOL was in such bad shape.

For the fan's sake. Take it from me....it's better to have your show end well than have it hang on for a couple more years as a shadow of it's former self.

He has financially mis-managed this show so badly that I just don'ts ee it lasting until next year. And this "I don't care" attitude he seems to have.....it's just sickening.

That quote from the DOOL spokesperson that Michael Fairman posted doesn't mean anything IMO. Yes, JKJ is still Philip for the moment, but they didn't say anything about him signing a new contract.

Five more...hmm...I would put money on Nick going, Caroline and Maggie both at least dropping to recurring, Stefano is probably gone, Patch and Kayla...as boring as they are I dont think they'd write out ANOTHER supercouple, so maybe Melanie can be gone and probably Lucas as well.
