Didn't Myrtle own it before Ellen did, though? Like, I think Ann gave it to Myrtle when she left town (to Seattle, I want to say), but then after Kitty died, Myrtle left town with Nigel Fargate and she passed it on down to Ellen.

Yes, they traded ownership but Myrtle was such a sweetie she happily worked "for" Ellen in the '80s until she took over again.

I hated to hear this - was so sad. You know that it is coming but you still aren't prepared.

I have been writing a big story for her in my online soap that has gone by the wayside that will explain for me the strong bond that developed instantly between Zach & Myrtle - one of the best things about the Zach character for me. I will greatly miss that onscreen if I start back watching AMC.

As far as sets, my fear is we will lose The Boutique too which is one of the oldest sets on the show. Ann bought The Boutique back in 1970 and then it just gradually passed from one character to another through the years. So sad that they might not ever show it anymore.

I love all the mentions of character that should come back. I will add one more and that is Ellen Dalton. She and Myrtle were always close. Ellen worked for Myrtle at The Boutique or it may have been the other way around - my memory is playing tricks on me right now which one actually owned The Boutique at the time. But they were very good friends for years on the show.

But when did they even last show the Boutique? i know we saw a "new" one that wasn't owned by Myrtle with Randi and Carmen a month or two ago--but the old set hasn't been on screen for like 10 years has it?

No it has been seen because it was seen sometime during the Kendall & Greenlee feuding. I remember the scene where they fought at the Boutique. Someone else mentioned it above.

It hasn't been used like it used to be but it has still been around some.

I'm not sure of the last date but it has been there.

I think that was the location, but the dialogue made it seem like the boutique was torn down and then a strip mall was put up in its place.

I am pretty sure Anne Tyler gave up her par of The Boutique to her partner, Kitty Shea. After Kitty died, Myrtle arranged for Ellen to buy the shop. When Myrtle came back to town, Ellen hired Myrtle. Ellen eventually bought a restaurant, was it The Chateau?, and Myrtle become the sole owner of the Boutique.

The last clear memory I have of Myrtle with clothing was Bianca's return in 2000 when Myrtle brought a bunch of samples to try on for the party Erica was throwing in her honour. It would be sad if The Boutique is now a thing of the past. I think a great tribute episode to Eileen would be Erica and Bianca cleaning the Boutqiue after Myrtle's death and doing "Remember when..." moments.

I thought that fight was at the Valley Inn during a Bridal Fair....? I can't remember the last time we actually saw the real boutique. The recent scenes did have Carmen & Randi talking about Myrtle's boutique that used to be at that location, so it was something new.

That fight was definitely at the Valley Inn Bridal Fair in 2002. Myrtle was there, I think she had a table and showed Erica around.

I know that was the day they shot their last formal, all cast included, cast photo. Copies were sold at SSW. An "edited" copy came out in 2003 with William DeVry, Ivan Shaw, Amanda Seyfried, Alex Daddario, Finola Hughes and Micah Alberti replaced with Justin Bruening and Jacob Young. I think Rebecca Budig and Michael Knight were also photoshopped in.

The fight at the Bridal Expo was a physical catfight, I think. The stuff at the Boutique was just arguing/back-and-forthing. I distinctly remember the scene...Myrtle was even there to calm their balls down.

I remember the scene as well.

And even though it was supposed to be The Boutique, it was a different set from the original.

So I'm guessing the original Boutique set has been destroyed. :(
