September 19, 200817 yr Member The only thing I'm surprised about is the fact GL didn't come in with a 1.3 or 1.4, it should have. That is the worst excuse for a soap that was ever put on the face of the earth! Jeffrey/ Reva and the Foley boys are really bringing those ratings up
September 19, 200817 yr Member I think people are expecting too much where the ratings are concerned for AMC. Declines in the ratings are about offline viewers who give up, it will take a lot to bring them back, if that's even possible. All this short-term buzz doesn't matter. On another topic, it looks like OLTL's reign with the tween girls is over. Edited September 19, 200817 yr by marceline
September 19, 200817 yr Member It looks like the ABC Soaps may be gotten a boost on Friday from John McCain's appearence on The View. Good for them

Nothing outside of a miracle can help GL right now. Jeffrey/Reva and baby is one of the dumbest stories on the show and that is saying a lot.
September 19, 200817 yr Member Huh? AMC doesn't have the "film look" anymore.... at least not on my TV. And to the person who thinks AMC is a "hot mess", how long have you been watching? Edited September 19, 200817 yr by Pine Charles
September 19, 200817 yr Member A 3.9 for Y&R on a Tuesday...like Victor Newman would say, "Well I'll be damned!" Y&R has improved substantially and is very enjoyable, I hope, someday soon, the show can creep back into the 4s...dare to dream right? B&B is stable...some would say stagnant. I find it enjoyable and the fact that the ratings haven't gone down says that other people think so too. GH, well my my my, it FINALLY hit 3 million viewers on Friday. I'm sure Frons pissed himself with glee...unfortunately, the show has still lost a boatload of viewers compared to last year, ditto OLTL and AMC. AMC needs all the promotion it can get. La Lucci being on DWTS is the best thing that can happen to this show...with decent promotion and some decent writing AMC could rise. I don't watch P&G soaps anymore (it was AW for me) but the GL numbers are HORRIBLE! When will the show hit a rating to deserve cancellation? PC and PASS were canceled with higher numbers that GL! I'm just shocked I tell ya that viewers aren't tuning in to see pregnant Reva. We all know that GL will be gone next year. There's no hope left. The only interesting thing to see between now and then ratings wise is how low the ratings will go. How Ellie Wheeler could possibly think that viewers would tune in to this drivel shows how out of touch with reality she is.
September 19, 200817 yr Member AH I thought AMC would rise a little--not drop a little. Oh well--I don't get why OLTL did (It was an ok week but...) and why the huge GH rise?
September 19, 200817 yr Member Such a good start of a week for Y&R... why did so many people tune out after Tuesday? I did think Friday sucked, but the rest of the week was pretty good, IMO.

September 19, 200817 yr Member AH I thought AMC would rise a little--not drop a little. Oh well--I don't get why OLTL did (It was an ok week but...) and why the huge GH rise? I think the Sonny/Carly romp was revealed to their respective significant others, I could be off by a week or so there. Is the reason GL has low numbers is because of the camera work? close far away close far away close far away. Could be that as well as possibly bad storytelling. AMC was bad in the summer/fall of 2006, but the numbers didn't start hitting all those new lows until the shaky cameras took full effect. ETA: I don't know when the diff. camera work started, but prior to this point GL had only hit one low in each category in 2008: 5/19/08.......8.....1.7.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,245,000 5/26/08.......8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,293,000 6/2/08.........8.....1.6.....05.....8) 1.0/06.....8) 2,216,000 6/9/08.........8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,275,000 6/16/08.......8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,288,000 6/23/08.......8.....1.5.....05.....8) 0.9/05.....8) 2,112,000 6/30/08.......8.....1.6.....05.....6) 0.9/06.....7) 2,190,000 7/7/08.........8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/05.....8) 2,168,000 7/14/08.......8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,192,000 7/21/08.......8.....1.7.....05...*6) 1.0/06.....8) 2,345,000 7/28/08.......8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,271,000 8/4/08.........8.....1.6.....05.....8) 0.9/06.....8) 2,303,000 8/11/08.......8.....1.6.....05...*7) 0.9/05.....8) 2,234,000 8/18/08.......8.....1.5.....05...*7) 0.9/05.....8) 2,074,000 8/25/08.......8.....1.5.....05.....8) 0.9/05.....8) 2,128,000 9/1/08.........8.....1.5.....05.....8) 0.8/05.....8) 2,077,000 9/8/08.........8.....1.5.....05.....8) 0.8.05.....8) 2,024,000
September 19, 200817 yr Member Happy for OLTL, it was a good week. On another topic, it looks like OLTL's reign with the tween girls is over. Tweens are back in school, the demographics have reflected that the last 3 weeks.
September 19, 200817 yr Member Is the reason GL has low numbers is because of the camera work? close far away close far away close far away.. GL has had low numbers forever, it seems. Even when it was great in the early 90's, the numbers weren't there - competition from GH was the primary reason. Now, it's more due to the fact that it's all over the place - specifically, time-slot wise.
