I have to agree with this. I think I might've suggested a hoarding storyline years ago when the reality show was still a huge hit, but it takes time. IMO, had Charita Bauer not passed at such a young age, Bert would have been the perfect candidate for a hoarding storyline in the 90s. Boy mom whose boys have grown up and left the nest, husband left/died/left years ago, and as she ages, her usefulness in the community seemingly diminishes. Maybe after years of not actually seeing her house on screen anymore, Ed and Maureen start whispering about "how bad it's getting at Bert's," and then an episode opens on closeup on a random hoarded item, the camera pulls back to show much more of the horde, and then we realize we're in Bert's house. Meta makes her return during this storyline to give her a dose of "Girl, what is you doing?" and start on the road to recovery.
Mike/Henry aka Menry was real, and no one can shatter than confabulation for me.
I think an interesting story these days would be if some couple's son is SORAS'd into an incel, but not necessarily an incel incel. They could go as far as digging all the way in to the deeply disturbing side of that or play it much safer and just explore the psychology of it. Either way, to me, the important move to make that most soaps wouldn't would be to keep the character single indefinitely. Several successive regimes would have to commit to it over a long time.
