No way would people be as upset as when Camryn Grime's was let go. Cassie was beloved and we watched her grow up on the show. She was a better actress at 7 yrs old than Christel Kalil is now. I am not joking. I rarely ever get lost in Lily's portrayal. And when she is in a very emotional scene I am more likely to be pulled out of her scene due to her acting than be pulled in. Not to mention Cassie died on screen which was even more heartbreaking while Lily would probably just be written out.

DS was ok, but I was never a lover. I am not a CK hater and I always think when someone labels other haters it is because they have no good defense of their position and stoop to name calling. I am a lover of good acting and CK is not a good actress. I have made excuses for this because of her age but as you say she has been on the show for years and yet I have only seen a small improvement. I just compare her to a young Tracey Bregman or Heather Thom who started as teens and they were so much better than CK. CK is pretty and not the worst actress but on a show of very good actors she just not compare to so many of the cast.

TPTB will never please everyone, and they need to stop trying to. They need to just start writing good, realistic, and thoughtful stories. Screw the fan bases, if the writing is strong, then the viewers will stay. This Chloe/Lane storyline went from mildly interesting, to downright nonsensical. I really don't think some viewers are boycotting just because one character left though; they are leaving the show because they are tired of being treated like idiots by these so called writers. Honestly, I don't know if I can blame them giving all they had to put up with LML, and even before that Smith. I'm still enjoying the show, but it needs to tighten its stories.

And I didn't recall viewers leaving in droves when she announced her exit then...

Y&R can survive with or without her and the character. Frankly, I think it's time she stays on the backburner for a while, and let other characters in the younger set have a main storyline, and yes that even includes Colleen.

I really think people are more devoted to a soap than to watch or not watch because of lousy 20 something so called actresses. They don't have much affect on me other than I love having the show on tape so I can FF them, along with the advertising that pays for these shows to still be on the air. Now if Jess Walton or MTS was fired, my devotion to this show might be impacted!

I'm not mad, but it seems like it's falling apart.

They decided to have two-three episodes with less Newman scenes, and immediately it causes drama.

But the people b*tching are mostly "Lame" fans. However, Chloe's pregnancy story is a bit weird.

Lily/Cane can't carry a main storyline. Also, Neil (who has most appearances than any character this month) can not carry a storyline without Dru.

We're getting an overload of those people, and it's not good.

    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
