Hey, Y&R's weekly thread has almost double the # of posts of OLTL's (I know it is just Monday). Does this mean something? I know Roman commented on this earlier. Is there actually....excitement...about the show?

I read that story.

To be clear, she was gracious and grateful and thankful. She said she was surprised, but only for a day. Then she made peace with it and understood it was her time to move on.

She was asked if she would come back to daytime and she basically said "never say never" but she felt she had to try for movies and series.

But it was the most totally non-bitter interview I ever saw. She loved Eric Braeden, and it sounds like their offscreen relationship was a lot like onscreen

I lost interest in OLTL a few weeks ago. Unlike others, I think that RC is doing a good job storywise, but I think that he is constantly let down by the mediocre performances from his featured actors.

Raya isn't alone. I was shocked when she was fired given how Eric Braeden was relishing Victor's romance with Sabrina. Y&R's market research must have shown that Victor and Sabrina's romance was very unpopular.

Braeden was only relishing it because he wanted a young woman near him for his ego....... it actually wasn't that hard to notice how unpopular the couple was. Constant boring French talk and nothing else in their scenes really made it hard for me to like them.

I'm sorry. I really want to like the Winters family. Kristoff St John is such a good actor. I can feel it in my bones. But watching him and Devon and Karen and Tyra and "YAY!"x3 Ahhhhhhhhhna yesterday was torture. I had to prop my eyelids open on matchsticks when Devon talked about Michael Jackson impersonationmusic being his "passion." I did manage to swallow a yawn when Karen told Tyra to start looking for a place to live. But without Drucilla, this family is one big PSA. There is no quirk or soapiness to them.

The Victor/Nikki scenes on the other hand? I got shivers when Victor grabbed her arm. Eric Braeden was so convincing. He really is TGVN inside and out.

Nice scene with Jack standing behind Victor, about to speak, then thinking better of it and slipping silently away. That scene, with the haunting opera music swirling in the air, spoke volumes.

Forgot to mention that I am damn near overdosing on the sugar Y&R is force-feeding me everytime Ana has a scene. The little tyke didn't break into song this time (although I did get nervous when they announced it was bedtime) but she squealed about five times over getting Neil some chocolate  and when Devon promised to tuck her in. It's like being accosted by an army of orphaned moppets from Annie. Even Tyra had to fight the urge to backhand her by the end of the episode.

She annoys me too. They're trying to make her into this young child star, but she's just annoying. In every episode she either has to sing, or has to constantly make some jokes that all the adults have to laugh about. I wish Tyra came to Genoa City alone.

I have overdosed on that kid also. Is she on the Sony label? Because that is the only thing that explains her constant singing inappropriate songs.

I do think that the Winters can be revived as they await Dru's return, but they are going to have to give Karen some backbone to stir things up.

But Victor and Sabrina aren't the first unpopular couple to hit Y&R. It doesn't mean that TPTB are going to kill or write out one of the characters. At some point, TPTB must have felt that despite Eric Braeden's ego, they had to dump Sabrina. I was surprised that TPTB went as far as to kill her off. She could have been a love interest for Brad who has been single forever or even Cane or Jack.

    • The poster said "update", so they were likely following up on their own post on this thread about Pope Francis' funeral.   That is all.
    • This is probably an unfair generalization, but I do say it with affection: I've always thought of Felicia (and by extension, Linda Dano) as "your mother's fabulous but slightly insufferable friend." Sort of a Godmommie Mame, you know?

    • I am loathe to gatekeep but why is the new pope being chosen posted here? RIP In Memoriam thread is for those who have died. RIP literally means Rest In Peace, although some use it to mean Rest in Power. Either way the issue is death.

    • If Brad was writing BTG, Hayley would be pregnant and not know if it's Bill or Ted's (from a one night thing) by now.
    • I typed “Josh Griffith sucks” into Chat GPT and this is what I got lol: You’re definitely not alone in feeling that way—many longtime fans of The Young and the Restless have voiced similar frustrations with Josh Griffith’s writing. Common complaints include:   Boring and repetitive storylines, especially corporate and legal drama that lack emotional depth. Underutilization of legacy characters, with beloved veterans often sidelined. Inconsistent character development, where actions and relationships feel out of sync with established histories. Too many dream sequences or filler episodes that fans see as lazy or cost-cutting. These issues have led to frequent calls online for CBS to replace him, especially from fans who remember the more emotionally rich and character-driven storytelling from earlier eras of the show.
    • I don't see Hayley being the Dupree family mattress.
    • This show has become utterly unwatchable. I can't bear watching Liam's storyline. This is like making me watch gore or something really off-putting and depressing. And it's not about cancer. I am not opposed to storylines that deal with cancer - I've lost my grandmother to brain cancer. It's the way they are doing it. It's so in your face, without any nuance in the dialogue. It's like Bradley is saying - No... here. CRY! CRY! You have to! Otherwise you are not a good human being.  Liam is so done. I'm sorry to say it. This character is dead at this point. And not from cancer, but from BAD WRITING!
