My mom did, too. It's freakin Wisconsin! But the Head of Wardrobe is prob Californian!

As for Brooke, I know she's meant to be sexy. Pushing the envelope in fashion! However, high fashion -- even in California -- is decidedly unsexy. It is the anti-sexy! If you are a woman, it's all about being thin enough (and by thin, I mean no boobs, no butt, no womanliness -- you are a human coat-hanger) to wear outfits that pretentious people call "works of art." And most fashion CEOs are incredibly formal. They dress up, not to titilate horny, aging designers, but to show off. "Look what I'm wearing. Look how expensive it is!"

I don't see that much in B&B's fashion style although there is room for improvement (yet my standards have been incredibly lowered by what the GC elite wore for the infamous gala - L.A.s ladies and gentleman would not even got to Home Depot soo dressed drown or just totally horrendous B) ). What annoys me is that Birgit Muller has a thing for cleavege. Those actresses who don't have that much to show are dressed incredibly awful whereas the rest is dressed to the nines - of course not in business-style but nighclub hook-up style.

I also consider B&B my #1 soap for various reasons. It's just the guilty pleasure and has the most escapist style à la Lorimar/Spelling soap operas. I feel much rather let down by Y&R (or other soaps I once watched but haven't in eternity) than I do by B&B. This used to be less the case some years ago but definitely is that way since 2003 or so, even though that is also the year where I think B&B started to become hell of a lot uneven.

Well, I just thought that I never really met a die-hard B&B fan or at least not many. I always thought B&B is just a soap people watch besides their favorite soap. If I think about it, B&B is pretty easy to get into and is just half an hour.

So here are many B&B fan, but are you all americans? That was my whole point. I know the soap is very popular in Europe and other territories.

To go back to the pictures, they are all georgous. I hope some of them end up on magazines.

Here's one more. When I started watching soaps, Search for Tomorrow as my#1 show, since that was the very first soap I recall watching with my mom. Then later it became Y&R, especially when SEARCH moved to NBC. I guess the Bell pedigree was what drew me to B&B, and it's become #1 for me for a lot of reasons. Part of it is that I've been there completely from the beginning. With Y&R, I was watching since the 70s, but that started out as something I watched just because my mom had it on, and I was too young to really understand everything I saw. That wasn't the case with B&B. And for a while, I got ticked off a bit at Y&R when Bill Bell put his daughter's Cricket character front burner, so I got a little more into B&B as a result, so I was there through it's heyday of the Caroline/Ridge/Brooke and then Brooke/Taylor/Ridge days in the 90s.

Is B&B perfect? Far from it, especially when you compare the work of the head writer in the 90s, when he kept his tradition of juggling multiple stories at one time, to today where sometimes weeks of B&B will really focus just on one story. And Brad sometimes goes to far over the top when he tries to push the envelope. But every now and then, there's a reminder of B&B at it's best, like the rape story last year (before it just died and lost all its impact on everyone on the canvas) or Storm's death scenes that reminds me what I liked about the show.

And the half hour format is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it's a lot easier to keep up with, since it only needs 20 minutes (after commercials) to keep up with the action. But at the same time, having only half the time the other soaps have means that you can't cover as much, and that's not a good thing. There used to be like 3 stories on B&B in a given week, but these days, you're lucky if you have two, and all too many cast members have gotten lost in the shuffle because the show has less room to showcase everyone.

Lived in the US all my life.

Yeah, that would be easy. From Charlie's end, since Donna was a suspect in the shooting, Charlie might have feared that his objectivity would be questioned by his dad if it came out that he knew Donna. And on Donna's side, she might have been afraid that her secret pregnancy might be exposed if she admitted she knew Charlie, and that was just the kind of ammunition Stephanie would have used to break Donna and Eric up at the time.

I'll take ANY timeslot!!! I could see it on F/X or to try to lend some credibility to HereTV! or Logo (which doesn't really have a soap, unless you count QAF). I doubt SoapNet would give me a shot, but I always hoped that if SoapNet took on B&B, that they'd decide to use that other half hour of programming to give BTH a shot.

Would I have to recast Kari Wuhrer's role because of the legal issues from her termination from GH?! I'd hate to.

You know what I mean, it seems there are more fans of the other soaps out there than from B&B. B&B is "liked" by many but not "loved with a passion", that at least is the impression I got in the past. I hope you get the idea. :)

When you look outside the U.S. you see a totally different picture. My cousin lived in Italy for a while and the popularity of B&B there is unbelievable.

Someone wrote me and said Sheilaforever is from Germany, so maybe he (?) has something interesting about the german B&B fan to report. :D

Anyway, my whole point was that it is a shame that such beautiful pictures have not seen the light of day on any magazine. The picture where taken 9 month ago.

B&B is huge in many of the international markets it airs in, and Italy is one of the biggest. Whenever any of the actors go over there, whether it's for location shoots, promos or even vacations, they're treated like movie stars.

The last couple of years, it seems like B&B has been waiting a bit longer than they used to to release the annual cast photo and the photos taken along with it. So that might account for some of that lull. But what's really odd is that even once the photos were released, many of those posted in this thread haven't shown up in at all, in magazines or online. This is the first time I've seen a lot of the red curtain individual shots, for instance. The only ones I think I've seen before are John McCook and Heather Tom.

    • I recall @Chris B asking about this but here is an interview Sheri Anderson did with SOU back in the fall of ‘89: Here is an article that I think is interesting, it is an interview with Shery Anderson, screenwriter of the ninth season THE WRITE STUFF: FALCON CREST’S SHERI ANDERSON: FROM DAYS TO NIGHTTIME By Richard Spencer Soap Opera Update, 1989 : At a time when the success of nighttime soaps is shaky, Sheri Anderson, former headwriter for DAYS OF OUR UVES, ANOTHER WORLD, GUIDING LIGHT and GENERAL HOSPITAL, makes the jump to the evening format with some new ideas to help strenthen the CBS California vineyard based soap opera FALCON CREST. "FALCON CREST is going to have a differnet tone that it never had before," headwriter Sheri Anderson expiains. "The people that I am working with are kind of an interesting mix. The executive producer, Joel Sumow, did the first years of MIAMI VICE and THE EQUALIZER, Bob Cochran, a Harvard MBA,and Cyrus Nowrasteh, who has done a number of features, are story editors. I am co-porducer, with a history in daytime, so we are a real different mix. We all kind of balance each other out in different ways. I am sort of the emotional side (coming from daytime) and they are more the gritty side." A lack of focus is what Sheri attributes to FALCON CREST's problems the last few seasons. "No one , seemed to knwo that the characters' motivations were. Pilar was a real good example. No one seemed to know what she wanted. This season it is clear that Pilar wants Lance. That is really her dream and goal tokeep Lance. She will do anything to do that. She will be making some sacrifices thís season that really jeopardize her relationship with Lance." While Pilar's character may be strongly in place, Maggie's is not. How will the show restructure in light of Maggie's drowning? " We are not trying to replace her, but we are adding another kind of strong heroine character. That character is Laruren Daniels. She's very earthy; married to a construction worker. Lauren. is the sister of Michael Sharp, Gregory Harrison's new character. "Michael is an extremely powerful adversary to Richard Channing. He will be more cynical than Richard and less emotionally motivated. For Michael it is all power and money. The audience will be more sympathetic toward Richard. He will be going through hell," Sheri reveáis with doom in her voice, "...Paying for his past sins " The complete opposite of Richard or Michael's intensity is the the new character of Charlíe St. James."Charlie is every woman's foolish choice," Sheri character sketches. "He's kind of indescribable; charismatic, totally unpredictable, charming, unnervtng. He's coming in as a love interest for Emma. He will be the first man to make Emma feel like a woman. She's really not victimized by him...she’s addicted to him. Charlie's presence will make her a little less flakey this season." But Emma is not the only one in store for major personality changes, also in the categroy is Frank. "We arebringing back somebody from his past," Sheri reveals "there will be a great secret that will come to ight." Speaking of characters from the past, are there any Sheri would like to return? "Everyone is fond of Ana-Alicia in her original role. At this point we don't have any plans to bring her back because we have some other character that are going to take the forefront." And if one thing is going to remain the same, it will be what Sheri recognizes as the theme of FALCON CREST "Quest for control of Falcon Crest. We have people trying to take control, and they are all taking it for different reasons. Some are emotioanl, some are revenge, but they each have a different eason for which they want Falcon Crest. And that is really the pivotal center. It is very earthy." Keeping the core of lite show intact is not the only thing nighttime shows have to do to stay interesting and acording to Sheri"I din't think night time shows have kept paces with changes in the viewing audience," Sheri answers by analyzing what exactly is primetime soaps* problem. ln datyime, you do over the years the shows stay on, but you are adapting to what people are accepting:faster-paced, or slower, or addíng more comedy, depending on the audience, and what they are buying. I don't think some of these shows in primetime have done that "We are trying to make the show as much episodio as it is continuing. We are cutting down the number of scenes in each act to get the audience more involved. But some of the shows, and this happens in daytime al so, don’t let the characters really grow," Sheri certainly made chracters develop during her daytime career, but especially on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, which is the source for her favourite stories of her careen ”When Víctor carne to Salem and revealed tha the was really Bo’s father, it caused such a ripple effect for Kim, Shane, Román, Bo, Hope, Caroline and Sean. I also liked bringing Kayla back for Patch.” Having written for Kristian Alfonso' s Hope (DAYS) and now Pilar on FC, Sheri distínguishes between the two characters. "Pilar is a woman, but Hope was growing up. Hope was more innocent and Pilar is not Pilar has an intelligent strength where Hope did all the wrong things for all the right reasons." Pilar wíll be the only one retuming from her family, while Angela Channing’s appearances will be limited (per Jane Wyman's contract). "But Richard will be taking a very strong role which is very similar to Angela Angelad presence will be felt in every epísode/ Sheri informs. A lot of people complained about the women of FALCON CREST being wishy-washy They certainly aren't this season Sheri emphasizes. "Lauren will be strong, especially after her brother Michael steais Richard’s children and places them with her, Frnak’s step daughter will be very devious, indicateive of Kathleen Turner in “Body Heat” And Gregory Harrison is fabulous," Sheri reports with joy. "He is so different from his character on TRAPPER JOHN, M.D He is very similar to Michael Douglas in the film 'Wall Street'. FALCON CREST viewers will find a much richer textrae, getting away from the glamour and really going to substance and style." Sheri concludes, "it will be a show to watch, We are trying to bring in a new audience, and at the same time, respect our past audience."
    • Well, if he's had a series of mini-strokes along the way (which, IIRC, he did), then that influences things. I can say, from my experience of having had two full-blown strokes, that recovery periods were very, very different, both in terms of difficulty and length of time.
    • Whhhhhhhhhhhattttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was everybody out this weekend.
    • She did have a thing with him in the late '90s, before she inexplicably disappeared with no mention as to why, although I can't remember if they had sex.
    • I don't believe she did. She did sleep with Simon, believing he was a Spaulding.
    • -- If I ever get sick, please don't send me to Garland Memorial. That hospital is a YIKES. -- Soooo much activity around the main nurses' desk. Do they move dead people on a gurney past that desk, too? -- 8 months for Bill to recover from a "small stroke"? Uh....I don't think so. Is anyone researching this stuff? The hospital stuff is not coming off as realistic. -- It's good that Derek and Ashley are being integrated into other stories, but it's a real stretch to say Leslie was "stalking" Ashley. It makes Derek seem dumber than we already think he is. -- Ashley spends a lot of time having small talk while she's at work. -- Chelsea is embarrassing. Period. -- Tomas is supposed to pick up the slack for Bill, but he has time to have worthless conversations with Leslie? OK then. -- Kat is destroying the case against Leslie, but that's clearly the way to keep Leslie on the canvas.
    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
