That Indigenous actress didn't report the facts accurately. She said the N word was used on set, indicating that the show was very racist. What she failed to mention was the very important context that the actor who used the N word was a person of colour (many speculating it was more specifically a black actor) reciting rap lyrics which makes the use of the word considerably less problematic. It's still highly unprofessional, but not racist. I don't trust the actress. That, however, doesn't negate the other actors who have come forward with their own experiences. I'm more inclined to believe them. However, I don't believe racism is a rampant issue on Neighbours as that actress seems to want everyone to believe. They absolutely do need to address whatever issues there may be behind the scenes though to make sure people are comfortable and things like this don't happen again.

Is anyone watching this?

 

Really had enough of Amy's polyamory story. It keeps going and going and has successfully managed to ruin both Ned and Amy as characters. Hopefully Amy's daughter arriving can reinvigorate her character.

 

Love Nicolette and her being a worthy adversary for Paul. Would really love it though if they could start and give her storylines that don't involve the boring Boo's.

 

Terese turning back to alcohol has been well done.

 

I can't help but love bitchy Harlow and thought Roxy was more than a little mean to callously exclude her from her wedding party like that.

      I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.

      I vaguely recall it surfaced on either TNT or TBS around 1993 or so but I could be wrong about the channel. By 1997 when this article was written Knots was still airing on TNT, Dallas was on the old TNN network (which today is Paramount), and Dynasty was on…well I don’t even recall now but feel like it was either E!  or Bravo. TNN ran Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas together in the evenings for years surprised they didn’t just pick up FC to resurrect the trifecta.

      @Maximthank you for such a thoughtful reply. I have printed it out so I have it with me as I watch most of the soap clips on the YT app on my TV. I've always wanted to get into Edge of Night, but I didn't no where to start.

      Laugh-In was also before my time, but I loved watching her when Nick at Nite and TV Land ran repeats. She was also on Sesame Street for years. So vibrant. One of those people I've never heard bad word of. Sorry to hear that.

      Other than Soapnet I am trying to remember if I ever even saw it in syndication. I know I saw Dallas, Knots and Dynasty in syndication before Soapnet.
