With Michael Parr leaving I really hope they don't kill off Ross and have his heart transplanted into Sarah!

I realize that he will be around for some time, so maybe it's unlikely that they're going down that path, but with this show you never know nowadays....

I think it's too easy for him to have killed her. He also couldn't kill her when he tried before. I think she's hidden somewhere.

I have enjoyed the show a bit more lately, although it's still not great. I'm happy to see Sam getting more to do in the spoilers...

(I know he's not popular here)

Even though he's a Dingle I'm actually quite pleased with the spoilers for him. It's a great use of history for once.

(I can't believe I'm actually excited about a Dingle getting more screentime. The heatwave we're having must have affected me more than I expected....

If he kills Liv, I'm all for it. She serves no purpose anymore. Aaron's still always fretting after her as is the whole village. "How's Liv? Where's Liv? Is Liv happy? Is Liv drunk? Liv, Liv, Liv..."

I've always loved Rebecca as a character, but if they refuse to write for her or fix this stupid, insipid brain injury, then let Emily Head go off and do something else.

I do wish ITV would stop with the hour-long episodes of Emmerdale. 22 minutes is more than enough these days.

I have no problem with Matty, but as usual when a soap tackles a somewhat controversial subject it will fizzle out after the initial surprise. In a few weeks Matty will be just like any other character on the show, and his history will be largely forgotten. Soaps are so afraid of any real long-lasting controversy that stories like this inevitably becomes disappointing.

I have to say that I don't like the hints of attraction between him and Victoria, but that's for personal reasons. I want Victoria to start having babies to expand the Sugden family, and unfortunately Matty cannot provide that.

Wait, so the only non-Dingle or Dingle adjacent person at Robert & Aaron's engagement party is Bernice (who I love)? Diane's in Leeds and Victoria's working? I can't with this show...

I don't care about Graham. Why is he getting flashbacks and a special episode?

Joe Tate serves zero purpose. He needs to leave town and never return. This storyline has been an epic flop. Without him seeking revenge on Charity, there's nothing remotely interesting or engaging about him.

Haven't you learned that the only ones this show cares about are the ones named Dingle. The rest are just fillers.....

And yes, Joseph's return has turned into a big fat flop. Not surprising though, since we can't have anyone oppose the all-powerful and mighty Dingle clan now, can we? They must be on top and on the winning side all the time, and anyone who dares to do or say anything against them must be made to see the error of their ways and join the rest in singing their praises....

It’s been a hard lesson to learn, but I’ve learned it.

I’m actually shocked and disheartened by the dramatic shift in tone, style, pacing, and storytelling that has overtaken the show in the last year. There’s so much darkness, zero levity, and it’s insufferable now.

Probably the thing that has annoyed me the most is how they handled Moira learning about Matty and having trouble coming to terms with the news. Moira’s no saint, but she’s always loved her kids and done the best for them. I was firmly on her side because he lied and avoided her for two years when she needed him the most.

To me that was less about Moira and Matty and more about giving them a chance to portray Cain as the voice of reason and tolerance in an attempt to whitewash him after his involvement in the whole sordid affair with the acid attack on Ross.

Just like Sarah's illness, in my opinion, is not about her but a not very subtle way of trying to make the audience more sympathetic towards Debbie. (It's not working on me though. I still hate that bitch with every fiber of my being)

    • Max's dad was Trent.  Melanie's "dad" for a while too.   Benjy was deaf.  You have to remember that lol. Tyler Pocket does deserve justice though.
    • Maybe if they had leaned into actual characterization instead of letting plot drive the whole story they could have made something actually interesting out of a spoiled princess too young to have a baby, but it seems to me transparent that they wanted to drive conflict by first of all making Amanda's lover Mitch (Mac's worst enemy!)'s brother and then forcing her into a shotgun marriage ... but of love. It would have been more interesting if she had had the abortion, or put the burden of raising the baby on Ada, or with or without the baby become estranged from Mac and Rachel in order to be with Sam. Amanda never had to really reckon with being spoiled and privileged -- she just took it for granted and built herself an implausible career at Brava. I liked Christine Tucci as well because she was a stronger performer and I thought the writing was more willing to make Amanda look less than perfect.
    • I haven't seen the original scene anywhere, only the flashback.
    • That's a big part of it.  I think Charles is a better fit for Evan than Jack Wagner would have been.  Mary and Thomas would have been fine, but then Catlin and Sally had their own writing issues.  I agree there was no need for Amanda to get pregnant so early. Clearly Amanda had a hugely charmed life compared to most young women who have a baby, but there was always a certain air of absurdity knowing she was a highly successful businesswoman and a mother to a young child...and this was after finishing school, no college, IIRC. Even Lily Walsh had a slower path to the top.
    • Raise your hand if you saw GA on Capitol in a speedo. *waves*
    • What's even weirder to me about the next gen of Forresters Marones looking down on the Logans is that they were raised the same:  - Rick, Bridget, Hope and RJ were all born and raised in Bel Air (or the B&B equivalent). That means they all went to the same private schools and the Marone kids, etc. - Brooke has been wealthy for 30+ years. Katie not only got a huge slice of $B's cash in the divorce, but also has had high paying jobs for the past 15 years. Donna, well, she got the divorce settlement from Eric and then a payout from $B and remarried Eric. And all 3 have lived in highly exclusive neighborhoods, etc. The class thing worked until Brooke got the rights to BeLief, became CEO of FC and moved into her mansion wedding present. Brooke and Taylor's children are absolutely the same *class* - so it's disingenuous for Steffy to look down on them. I really wish one of Brooke's kids would call out Steffy/Taylor on this.
    • And to add on to this...SilkPress has been poking him with popshots (brownie boy) since the reveal. And at least it has been established that Martin does not at all like to be messed with. And now he's been messed with since he was a kid with the affair reveal. That...plus the consistent verbal poking by SilkPress over the last few episodes...does not make his anger out of place at all.
    • I think it's a writing vs. talent thing with Kerr.  I can see how some people view her line delivery as verging on bored sometimes.  I just don't think Portia/Brook has ever gotten a story that truly showcased her and her talents.  Most of the time she is apologizing for lying or making a mistake. I really don't get how this is Gio's fault or why Lois was there at all lol.  Is anyone going to find out Joss knew Danny was there and ignored it entirely?
    • I thought Sandra Ferguson was charming and quite good as Amanda. I really liked the Sam/Amanda storyline. I think what harmed the storyline is something I mentioned a few pages back. The pacing of the Sam/Amanda/Evan triangle was quite bad and like most of Swajeski's stories, there was no real end game. Poor Olivia. So much potential and then nothing came of it.
    • You're speaking of something that did not even happen here & you are incorrect because there was nothing nonchalant about it. I have very rarely spoken of it but I made a reply about it where it did happen, recently.  Yes, it was a terrible awful error. I had been told it had been announced. Not only Drake but my oldest, best friend died that week, she also a pancreatic cancer victim. The instant I learned it hadn't I deleted it & posted a sincere apology. At the time I was so upset.
