Does anyone know how far behind the UK Canada will be when Vision TV starts airing episodes (with Emmerdale) tomorrow? Apparently they're picking back up from where BBCCanada stoppes showing it last Spring. I hope it lasts longer than the 2 or so months Showcase showed Eastenders a year or two back (probably, Vision doesn't care nearly as much about ratings as Showcase did and they seem to be hoping a lot of the BBC viewes will move over)

That fight looks great and it's been a long time coming.

I don't remember Kat and Janine mixing it up much during their first stints together, outside of that time Kat jumped into a fight between Zoe and Janine. Janine mostly mixed it up with Little Mo (who she bullied when she decided she wanted Billy), Lynne, and Zoe. Though, Kat does look pissed in that pic, and maybe doesn't jump in because she's heavily pregnant.

Is it me or this a good time for Natalie Evans to make a return to Walford ?

Think about it.

1) The Bill`s Cancelled

2) Ricky & Bianca Are Back In The Square

3) Janine Is Back In The Square

Its not a bad idea if you think about it.

Bring Natalie and her son Jack back into the show. And an idea to bring her new abusive husband (A story to kick her off with). They could return just after their wedding (Wedding Dress & Suit and everything) after they bought a house in Walford. But on the inside he controls, hits and demeans her. She could find comfort in Ricky who Bianca may suspect she is after her man again.

Just an idea ?

You can see a brief clip of Kat's first scenes with Big Mo from tonight's episode in this clip:

The Slater's were the bets part of today's episode. Dot and Patrick were good too.

I loved how Stacey and Charlie lit up when they realized it was Kat who walked in through the kitchen door. We didn't get to see enough Kat in this episode amongst all the Minty/Heather nonsense (which is thankfully ending tomorrow).

Ronnie is acting more and more like Archie, this side has always existed in her, so I'm not shocked she thinks she can control everyone's lives.

The Vanessa/Jodie scene was nice, but the girl playing Jodie does not have a very flattering crying voice and I found her very annoying today.

Gotta love how Sam is working Minty so he can run off with her and be her support system, not because she actually likes him. That's the basis of what they have, I'm glad they aren't coming up with some stupid story where Sam magically realizes she's in love with Minty, because she really isn't.

I loved when Dot recounted the Slater's history on the show to the guy who was after Kat. Like how they arrived on the day of her dear friend Ethel's funeral, they had 4 daughter (5 if you count the one that ain't really  ), and a father and a grandmother. A nice little nod to 10 years ago this week...

I'm so glad Minty's time is coming to an end...

They seem to be working in Kat gradually, but I can't wait to see more of her.

More details on the Stacey/Janine fight.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/spoilers/a276812/a-furious-stacey-attacks-janine.html

It looks like they fight more than once next week, and Kat does step into it in one of them.

Oooh, it does look like Shirley and Kat will be friendly:

I had seen a negative-ish reaction to this episode at several boards so I was surprised at how much I liked it. Probably because I liked how much time was spent on everyday little scenes building up to the christening, like speeches being prepared, women getting ready, men being impatient.

I understood what Jodie was trying to get across and I thought the actress did a decent job but the dialogue was odd and having her say those things while she was doing that strange crying was an odd choice.

The scenes with Dot were very good (poor Jim, that was a bit of a low blow she made bringing up his abandoning Paul and Anthony). The scene where she talked about the Slaters reminded me a lot of Corrie for some reason, although it was a nice nod to history.

Great that Kat's back. She's brought out the first spark Mo's had in years, and seeing Charlie and Stacey greet her was nice. Jean's reaction was also a bit odd...

I'm going to miss Sam, there's something very interesting about her this time around, how she is very selfish and sometimes tries to fight this.

Ratings were unusually high last night. Think the Kat/Alfie promo worked, or are more people settling down and watching soaps now that autumn is quickly approaching?

19:00- Emmerdale: 7.0m (35.2%)

19:30- Coronation Street: 8.8m (39.5%)

20:00- EastEnders: 9.2m (37.7%)

20:30- Coronation Street: 8.8m (35.8%)

22:00- EastEnders (BBC3): 911k (4.71%)

    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambry owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
    • Yeah, I think that Leslie's speech would have had a bit more of an impact if Ted had been the Dupree's son, with Nicole being the daughter in law they loved like a daughter. But being that he's the son in law, and that Eva (at least not right now) isn't technically a Dupree, it doesn't hold as much weight. They aren't caring much for Ted right now and their feelings could be trickling down to Eva. Though, I do think they have some sympathy for her. I really enjoyed today's show. Loved a stripped, down hurt but still strong in her resolve Nicole. DD continues to shine and shows why she is IMO the heart of the show. I felt her words, and anger at Ted and how she broke down in Kat's arms at the end. She is just wonderful all the way around. I also loved the way that Anita read Leslie. She was spot on about her and how mishandled everything with Ted and Eva. And speaking of Leslie... I immediately thought the same thing once I saw that scene. That what she exhibited was trash behavior. I don't think she's a good mother. In fact, I think she's lousy. Granted, I have missed some episodes, but I haven't really seen her do anything to indicate that she really cares for Eva or her well being. All she's really done is try and manipulate/use Eva for her own agenda since she came to town.
    • I thought Brandon C was much more believable as Martin today.  Before, I watched an actor trying to portray a character.  Friday and today, I simply felt the character.
