The woman who played her was unable to continue acting, as she was too senile to remember her lines. A few months after this, an old love of Minnie's showed up in Weatherfield and told her friends Ena and Albert that she had decided to live with him, and he was there to pack up her belongings. Ena gave him something she knew Minnie would really want. He left, and they had Ena and Albert standing on the road, solemn, realizing they were the only two left.

Corrie was unable to write proper exits for most of their older characters for many years. Even now, they still suck at it (Betty's shameful exit).

Geoffrey Hughes has passed away. You may know him best as Onslo on Keeping Up Appearances. He was on Corrie for nearly a decade as Eddie Yates, a binman who started out as an unseemly character but soon became like a son to Hilda and Stan Ogden. Many of their most popular moments were with Eddie, like when they were raising chickens, or when Stan accidentally had their clothes taken to the dump.

Great actor, wonderful character.

With each passing episode, I more and more wish Sunita would have died in the tram crash. What a horrible selfish c*nt. And her mousy voice does my head in. And with Friday's episode I got to see the actor who plays Dev "act" for the first time ... wow.

However, Gail messing with Eileen for the hell of it was hilarious bitchy fun. What a cow!

Who is she? OMG, Julie is on the current celeb edition of UK Big Brother and I love her. She is defiently the queen B of the house. Her clainm to fame was on Coronation Street where I read she played Bet for over 25 years. With such longevity, Im assuming she was a fan favorite? Was she a Roxy Balsom type character? Was her catchphrase, "Get it, got it, good!" Julie says that alot in the house and she wears only animal print and alot of animal ears

Here is my favorite moment from her very first day

    • It does, and I don't get it. This feels like Josh Griffith's middle finger to fans. They're end game, right? That's how most people feel. So what reason could there be to keep them apart? Are we supposed to wait until Y&R is canceled and then see them reunite in the last month? Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case have FIRE chemistry with each other -- and they strain to have any chemistry at all with anyone else. Isn't that obvious by now? I can't explain it, but we've all seen it. A decent writer could give us Shick AND good stories with them.
    • Ben Collins, CEO of the company that owns The Onion, says they don't use A.I.
    • As long as Kent and Griffith are in charge, the show is doomed.
    • To clarify, they didn't really date.  They pretended to be on a date once or twice due to a an interest in fooling someone else at the event/restaurant/whatever.  It wasn't planned by them to be real.   I think one of them became sort of interested at some point ?
    • A shame the Ben/Thomasina tease didn't go anywhere.  I didn't know until last year that they brought Thomasina back a few days before Quinn was murdered. I guess it's nice that they got those last moments of happiness but then you remember they never would have brought her back if they weren't going to kill Quinn off.
    • Very. It's VERY annoying, too.
    • I just remember Kristina coming on to her slightly and val freaking out
    • Not trying to be a contrarian, but I don't think the show needs a rival family.  Rival families have been over-done on soaps since the 1980s. And it might make the show too predictable.  I'd prefer they beef-up the have-not group with perhaps a couple of workers from the Country Club and one or two Dupree servants, joining the existing group of have-nots.  They could all know one another without being a real "family."  That would give the audience more opportunity to see Fairmont Crest life from the "backstairs."  To me this would be a far more interesting perspective than another wealthy family to rival the Duprees.
    • I wonder if that's why Valerie quit. I think some of the magazines at the time implied issues with Valerie and the producer, although I may be wrong. Painting Diana as going bad would have made more sense to me near the end of her run.
    • Carter & Thomasina were also stuck with a baby almost immediately and didn't get much to do after they finished high school. Carter's father was killed off and Marley drifted out of their friend group because of Jake. They left town after Carter's father died (of tomb dust!) and before Quinn died (unreasonably murdered by the Sin Stalker for dating Zack Edwards).
