Members DRW50
Thanks for the article. It's always interesting to see what happens to actors after they leave soaps. I hope she doesn't read the comments of the article...
Members jam6242
I know, some of them made me cringe, and most of those type comments had nothing to do with the content of the article.
Members edgeofnight
Sad news to convey to all of you. Zina Bethune (Barbara Latimer) was killed in a hit and run accident over this past weekend. The 66 year old actress got out of her car to help an animal in distress on the road, according to 'We Love Soaps.' I remember her very well from her days in Rosehill, but I also remember her when she played the daughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt in the 1960 film 'Sunrise at Campobello.'

Members edgeofnight
Thank you for sharing this with us. I actually helped a friend, a professionally trained ballet dancer, to write her book 'Ballet Secrets for Skaters.' Zina was always in the back of my mind as I was helping my friend Barbara write her book.
Members soapfan770
Question for anyone who remembers this: on the old defunct WOST website Brian did an interview with, I think Dennis Parnell who was the child actor playing Ben in the 50s. Parnell talked about how he had been molested on the set by an individual he didn't refer to by name except that it was an announcer who pryed on Parnell's developing sexuality. Does anyone remember if we confirmed the identity of that announcer? I seem to recall Ken Roberts was ruled out.
Members DRW50
I can't believe they let that happen I know how often this is ignored by most people, especially in the 50's, but I can't believe that it happened on the damn set.
Members saynotoursoap
The announcer Parnell accused was Don Hancock.
Members soapfan770
Thanks saynotoursoap. If I recall right Parnell said he didn't share the story until decades later after it happened. Quite unfortunate that it had happened but I don't if anyone else on the show knew or could know.
