Julia, I'm kind of confused by your responses. You responded to my post saying you didn't feel Jared should go to jail because he was sent by Tess, but then you responded above saying that you thought he should be punished. I am not attacking I'm just curious about your stance on this and I want to make sure I have a clear understanding of it. What do you think should be done with Jared? Do you think it was wrong for Natalie to blackmail Clint so Jared could get out of jail?

Oh, I think that generally someone who did what Jared did should be punished. If you assault someone and they are hurt more than you intended you bear some responsibility for that. I would say the same thing if Jared had gone over the edge when Nash punched him. However, I think in Jared's case he's already paid with two years of his life. To me, that's fair. I feel like he already paid because of Tess setting him up.

I'm not sure how I feel about what Nat did. I kind of feel that maybe Clint should have let Jared of on the fraud charges because of what Tess did to him. He did lose two years of his life to Tess and I feel that was glossed over. Jessica never showed proper remorse for that. Sure, it was Tess, but still. I feel so torn over Nat's part in it, because she had to know how much it would hurt Jess if Jared got off scott free, but at the same time Jess/Tess owed Jared and it isn't as if Jared meant to kill Nash or even hurt him.

I thought the funeral scenes were done very well, but I do have to admit that I tuned out about midway through Jessica's rant to Natalie and Jared. I know she lost the love of her life, supposedly but I just feel that Natalie and Jared are not the only culprits in what happened to Nash. And I'll have to rewatch because I missed Viki's reaction to the "trailor trash" comment and the "your dads a drunk" comment she made about Charlie. I usually end up watching the people in the background when I'm tuning someone out in the forefront.

Todd had me giggling a few times with his commentary at the funeral.

I'm actually shocked and dismayed that Talia set Sarah up like she did.

Seems the only way I can tolerate Marcie these days is when she's with Gigi and sometimes Michael. I just want to turn the set when she's with Starr.

I really wish that this time Bo and Lindsay do make it through their wedding, but I'm not holding my breath.

Loved all the cliffhangers today.

Yes you will, because Erika rocked every moment she was on today :)

Oh, do I believe that Jared should face charges of involuntary manslaughter? Yes. I don't like how Jessica is making it out as if big, bad old devilish Jared orchestrated this entire fraud just so that he could throw poor, sweet old immaculate Nash over a balcony and through a skylight. It should be what it is and nothing more. It was involuntary manslaughter, criminal negligence, recklessness, whatever you want to call it. Not murder. Not murder. Not murder. We didn't see Jared's eyes glass over a la the Incredible Hulk.

Well, then I don't think we disagree all that much. I have never said what Jared did was murder. I have said all along I think it was involuntary manslaughter or criminal negligence. I don't even think that Jared should face charges because he already paid. I'm using soap justice here, not real life obviously. And if we ever do face each other in front of a skyelight, I plan to hide behind Jared.

Most people are raving about Bree Williamson, and some people think she was over-the-top.

I would like to say that, although I think she's a fairly wide-ranging actress who can do subtly effective as well as hysterical, I am personally a fan of OTT.

I don't know that I would call what she has been doing OTT. I would certainly say this is the first time we have seen Jessica act this way, but then again, she's never lost the love of her life.

But there, I said it: I am a fan of OTT acting! Robin Strasser can do it too, sometimes. I just love it , and I think it's so much fun

When Jessica grabbed Natalie, dragged her to the coffin, and started TEARING at it, that was totally, unabashedly OTT, but I absolutely love it!

Jared protected Natalie from a menacing presence.

Each one performed their family role almost perfectly. Even Todd when he said to Roxy "I don't know about you, but this is the best funeral I've ever been to!"

I'm with you and Jay.

For me soaps are supposed to be OTT, they offer a hyper-emotional-reality, humans in overdrive, and Bree gave us that today. For me as a soap lover it was immensely satisfying to see Jessica lose it and spill her emotional guts, along with some long standing resentments and prejudices against her sister. We all know it can happen in real life (usually not in the place of worship, but this is a soap)

I loved both sisters today. Didn't think BW was OTT. Thought Jessica had a right to say it even if I still love Natalie, and thought it was an amazing indictment. She should win the Emmy.

In my experience that airing of long standing resentments and prejudice usually happens after the funeral when you're trying to divide up the jewelry and furniture. (I'm being morbid, aren't I?). ;)

Good. It's great to see that somehow, we were on the same page all along lol. And um...if anybody's hiding behind Jared, it'll be me. I have dibs on him wrapping those nice arms around me to make sure I don't fall

As far as Tess, I couldn't agree more. Soap justice will allow him to get off for his crimes, but when everyone realizes that Jess has become Tess, and that Tess is getting avenging Nash's death, I want Jared to lay that bitch out and call her for all her BS.

My experience too.

And one thing I notice is missing from almost all soaps is the visitation, or "wake", which can always be an opportunity for drama, even when the casket is closed. One side of my family is Catholic so I've seen it first hand. Episcopalians, or in my case again, Anglicans have visitation as well, usually.

Heaven help us if Nora loses a loved one, then we can all sit Shiva (like my other side of the family) and really pour on the drama.

So many missed opportunities...

I disagree with you Vee. I think Bree Williamson was over the top, but she should have been.

Does she deserve an Emmy? Absolutely. I just watched her again, for the second time, and I feel drained.

Bree Williamson was perfection today.

Perhaps a little over the top - but come on people. this is a soap opera. more than that, its a soap opera funeral where the woman who is prego lost the love of her life (the first death of a man she loved, btw) and the people she blames for his death showed up. What is the correct amount of over the topness to put into that? because if it was 100% missing of any over the topness i would feel cheated.

as for if jared is responsable or not really isnt the point, imho. Jessica blames him. SAhe is placing her anger on him and her sister Natalie for siding with him and taking part in the lies that led to everything unfolding inculding Nash's death.

As for Tess i hope she comes out and i hope she makes Jared & Natalie suffer. I wouldnt mind her killing them but that wont happen.
