And they really can't be blamed on the rest of the CBS lineup falling. Y&R was up this week, with B&B pretty much steady. When GL inevitably ends sometime next year, will ATWT stick with one soap, especially one that has been hemorrhaging viewers? If it does manage to survive, its budget will probably be slashed to whatever GL's is now. P&G should let one of its shows die with some dignity.

Either that or let CBS buy ATWT.

Yeah, I noticed that. Oh well next week is another week. Hopefully things will improve. And I did call the drop for OLTL. :D No soap this year has gone up 3 straight weeks in a row. I forgot who it was that said it wouldnt happen??...I know it was one of my old chaps...hehe.

I guess I'm paranoid too cuz I honestly believe sometimes that he wants his "journey to the dark side" experiment to work and I wonder if his ego will allow him to fess up that it ain't. Having Pratt move to AMC...I don't know.

That mob stuff on GH makes me ill...watching one of the latest promos with Jason, both guns blazing?...come on! Frons seemed to be trying to inject that same dark, dank, depressing crap into AMC in 06 and it sank this show. Reading the posts here and elsewhere, it seems GH fans are getting pretty sick of it over there too.

And what do you know....AMC shows a LOT of vets and good stories and their ratings go up...both in HH and Total Viewers. What an interesting way of getting better ratings. B)

I agree as a one time big fan of the show...it needs to be let go. I cant watch it anymore. I tried again today but couldnt take 5 minutes of it. The shaky cameras...the real close ups of the characters...the nonexistent cliffhangers at the end of every scene is just too much for me to take.

I think it's Jesse & Angie's wedding that got AMC the ratings bump more than anything.

I say let's wait and see if this continues before we can say anything is working. AMC's ratings tend to fluxuate too much.

I wouldn't be happy about this if I were a Cady fan, it means TIIC got what they wanted and people tuned into see a Ghost, tuning out would have had more impact IMO

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
