I heard an interesting spoiler though involving her and Pam. So it should be fun whether or not that Steffy girl can act.

Katie is Donna all over again. Sheesh!!! Except for some reason, I don't care quite as much. I love Heather Tom, but Katie is too boring of a character for her.

Does Donna's little day-mare about Eric's reaction to her son mean that we're now going to get a mild, timid reaction from Eric when he does finally find out?

Exactly, it went on for so long. It was pure Reilly: a cliffhanger at the end of an episode that turns out to be fake halfway through the next episode. If I didn't know better, I'd think JER wrote these last two episodes. :lol:

i hate fakeouts, but i didnt mind this one for the simple fact B&B doesnt do it ya know... every single episode, lol.

DAMN! That totally had me fooled. That was better than a JER fakeout because wasn't expecting it and the fact it was continuing from the day before. I can take those fakeouts once in a while when they are not expected and are not consistently used.

I think I had read it was a dream, otherwise I would have so been caught up in it. Even then I was.

I've got to say, this Marcus storyline is actually giving me a chance to like Donna. Never thought I was going to.

So we get Steffy today. Dude, I SOOOOOO want her to release so inner witch on Taylor for everything.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who fell for it.

But I guess they have to make a none scandal into a scandal because right now it's going to be a scandal. Especially if people thinking Donna hired her boy toy at FC.

I'm slightly creeped out with the earnestness of "filling up Katie's last days with whoreNick".

Steffy seems like she really could be HT's daughter. But WTH is her concern over Katie about? Those six months Brooke raised her made that big an impression? Ugh...she just took Taylor's side in the Rick debate.

Primetime stars - Their hits and misses...

Linda Lavin after the success of Alice had some decent tv movies in the 80s/90s... but her choice in tv series post Alice weren't exactly good choices.
Room For Two (a mother/daughter comedy with a than unknown Patricia Heaton) in the early 90s. Bad timeslot did the show in, but it was kind of a cute show.
Conrad Bloom in the late 90s where she was an interfering mother from hell.
Sean Saves the World in the early 2010s where she was the best part of that show... but lousy writing did it in.
9JKL - I don't remember this 1 season wonder
B- Positive - She was only in the 2nd season... but I don't remember it.
Mid Century Modern - I actually thought she was the weak part on this.. and she passed away during production so who knows it it would be have been successful.

Someone else that comes to mind with hit and miss is Delta Burke. She had a self-titled sitcom with "Delta" that didn't last and later on "Women Of The House" where she revived Suzanne Sugarbaker after patching things up with the Bloodworths.
Redd Foxx tried to revive Fred Sanford with "Sanford" and then had the very short lived "Redd Foxx Show". "The Royal Family" might have gone somewhere had he not passed away because I believe it did get attention because he worked so well with Della Reese, who much like LaWanda Page had the chops to match him and not be dwarfed, Jackie was added to the show to try and save it but to no.avail.
Jackee bounced back with "Sister, Sister" and is one of the only successful primetime stars who came back to daytime.

He would have been perfect on a soap. He did have actual acting talent, and was attractive. They never quite found the right vehicle to allow his charm and rough around the edges sides work cohesively together. He was either in fluff or something with more of an edge between Vegas and Spencer, and it just didn’t land fully.
For the times, Richard Dean Anderson was incredibly lucky to hit the right tone of show that worked for him and was an actual mainstream hit for part of its run.

Lola was an ex-hooker. I can't be sure, but Mark Evans may have been an ex-client of hers. She had two friends who actually worked on Nola's wedding dress.
Mary Pat Gleason, who played Jane, (sort of a Jane-of-all trades, including being a nanny and nurse/companion) also wrote for the show during this period.

That sounds accurate. "227" came on the air so quickly that it had to have been at least in the planning stages while Marla was still on "The Jeffersons". Marla is one of the more shrewd actresses out there because she was right back on "The Jeffersons" when "Checking In" didn't last so I assume she had a strong contract.

In watching recent 1991 episodes, I was just thinking how much was/will be lost shortly and how it really ruined the show for me: Anna Holbrook, Dack Rambo, Cali Timmins, Allison Hossack, Anne Heche, etc. The Taylor Benson story ended which I really liked because I thought Christine Andreas was fantastic. I would have found a way to keep her on as an antagonist. I also liked Joy Bell as Caroline, but they never did much with her.
I don't remember Kathleen's first tenure on AW, but her 1991 return just doesn't work for me because the writers can't decide who Kathleen is and they are writing Cass as an unfeeling idiot. Although, they did bring back Mary, MJ and Vince very briefly and I wanted more of them. I adore(d) those performers.

She was definitely to blame because she wanted Carroll and Davis on board as well wanting Gale Gordon as her co-star (who demanded pay for 22 episodes even if the show wasn't given such an order). She also brought in her old crew members one of which was a sound man who was hard of hearing. That was sitcom material in itself.

And yet, all of her deepest psychological damage has revolved around this. Blocking out David Hamilton, the retcon story with blocking killing the nurse Rick was having an affair with, and Rick in a catatonic state. You could argue she is at her most fragile when this type of stuff happens, and it’s both the shock of finding the body, and also the panic of possibly losing everything again. Remember, ultimately the horrible Rick story revealed she only thought she killed Rick, and that was enough to put her in catatonic state.

I think I read or heard somewhere that Gibbs was actually developing "227" while still working on "The Jeffersons," with the understanding that it would launch after "The Jeffersons" had wrapped for good. But that was because everyone was expecting "Jeffersons" to get another season followed by a proper series finale. So, when CBS actually cancelled "The Jeffersons" WITHOUT allowing them their finale, it was a shock, of course, but luckily, Gibbs had "227" ready to go for NBC, so it just launched a year or so ahead of schedule. Of course, I might have that wrong, lol.

I wonder, too, whether "Us" would've been another hit for Landon (and his first on a network other than NBC) had his cancer diagnosis not curtailed everything. Say what you will about the mawkishness of "Little House on the Prairie" and "Highway to Heaven," but Landon seemed to know better than a lot of others what people wanted to see every week on TV.
In a way, however, I think Lucy herself (and maybe Aaron Spelling, who produced "Life with Lucy" for her) might have been to blame. It's one thing to be loyal toward those who helped you in the past, but the TV landscape had changed so much from the time "Here's Lucy" went off the air to when "Life with Lucy" would premiere. IIRC, her head-writers, Bob Carroll Jr. and Madelyn Davis, had just finished working on "Alice," and their writing and producing style on that show felt old-hat even back then! Lucy really needed more modern writer/producers who could update her form of slapstick comedy for the '80's.
