OLTL: Discussion for the week June 2-6

I never saw AE's Tina. When I started watching Karen Witter was still in the role. Then that chick that used to play Mindy on GL came(couldn't stand her Tina).

Karen Witter was awesome and one of the best recasts ever. Krista Tesreau was fine, but they never did anything big with Tina during her stint.

But as Cheap21 says, Andrea Evans IS Tina, and this is going to rock! And LOVE that clip you posted with Tina and Maria!!!!!!

If anyone else was writing, I would see AE as just a stunt. But with RC at the helm, this is going to rock.

Check out this clip. Maria tries to kill Tina and ends up dying with her own poison

Now that is the OLTL I remember. As campy as a Vegas spectacular, but oh-so-entertaining, lol.

Thanks for the link, Cheap21!

IA. I actually loved all 3 Tinas. The character rocked either way. I didnt care which one of them played her, I just wanted her back in town a long time ago. We got REALLY, having AE, the first and best return bc years ago, I didnt think it would ever happen. Now all I need is for John Loprieno to return as Cord bc he and Tina are my absolute favorites. I will be in soap heaven if that were to happen. For now, Im just going to enjoy the hell out of Tina

the late 80s was such a funny time for OLTL. It was beyond campy. Some of that stuff may look ridiculous now but it was pure fun back then. The show ha high drama but mixxed it with some camp and didnt always take itself so seriously. I loved OLTL in the 80s

I have only seen Andrea as sex crazed Rebecca on Passions(those costumes ). It's going to be different seeing her play Tina but I'm really looking forward it.

What a great post! You really give a good insight into Natalie here.

Thanks! It means a lot coming from an old OLTL diehard.

I actually think Natalie has shown admirable self restraint and unselfishness by not trying to explain her actions at all up to this point. For the most part she's withstood her family's disgust and accusations without making any excuses. The only times I recall her telling anyone that she loved Jared were in the shareholder's meeting when it first came out before Nash went through the skylight, and when Clint told Viki that Dorian had revealed that Jared and Natalie were sleeping together. I'd hardly call that constant, and neither time was she using it to explain the lie, she was telling everyone that she loved Jared and that this wasn't some seedy little affair. Because Natalie's one of the few characters in Llanview for whom those words have real meaning, unlike Jessica (Antonio and Jaime?).

It would be very tempting to desperately want to sit everyone down and explain and try to make them understand, her reasoning for her actions. Explain that what they see as an affair with Jared wasn't what motivated her to keep the secret. Explain that she never intended to hurt them but wanted to tell the truth in the way that would minimize damage to BE and to everyone involved including Viki and Rex. She started to explain to her mother in the hospital "We were going to tell . . ." but she brought herself up short because she realized that the most important thing the family had to deal with right now was Jessica and her grief. Now is not the time to worry about how they feel about her (Natalie). Natalie unselfishly realizes that and just accepts their rejection and hatred for her because that's all she can do for Jessica right now. But that's my girl. The tough one who takes it on the chin for those she loves. Not the least a princess.

Furthermore, it's important to acknowledge that by the time Natalie knew the truth, the Cobb and Webster deals had already been done. Dorian already had the ammunition she needed to take over BE. Jared and Natalie were certainly a large part of her arsenal, but Dorian's the one who picked up the weapon and pulled the trigger. Natalie telling the truth at her earliest opportunity would not have restored the shares Dorian had already won.

Wow. I bow down to you. You add a whole new dimension to how I see this storyline! Awesome post.

how is Sarah connected to Bo? I cant figure it out.

She is Tina and Cord's daughter, so she is Bo's great-niece, right? Since Cord is Bo's nephew.

Right....and Cord is Clint's son and Bo's nephew.

That makes Sarah related to:

Clint

Bo

Jessica

Natalie

Bree

Matthew

Todd

Viki

Starr

Jack

Sam

Kevin

Joey

Zane

Asa

Renee (by her marriage to Asa)

David (of course no one knows this yet)

and of course.....Cord, Tina, and CJ

Hope I didn't leave anyone out.

That clip with Tina & Maria is so hilarious. Maria is like the Wicked Witch of the West: "I'm MELLLLLLLLLLLLLTING!"

And Andrea Evans = If Cord is not coming back, wonder if they are going to try for Tina & David again.

I'm wondering if we can get this thread to 1,000 by Monday. If so, that would be awesome! :)

LOL! I wouldn't be surprised but here's another one for the cause.

Jared could have just as easily gone over the railing through the skylight when Nash punched him. Just a thought. And there was far more intent for bodily harm in Nash's punch than in Jared's actions.

Also, Sarah Roberts is named after Sarah Buchanan, who was Bo's presumed dead wife at the time of Sarah R's birth. I will always remember the scene when Tina handed baby Sarah to Bo and told her that she was named for his dead wife.
