Thanks. Very moving interview. I'm glad she and the other 90210 cast are in a better place now.

Here's an interview she did in 1999. It starts around an hour and 37 minutes in. Amusingly, the host mistakes Alyssa Milano for Tori Spelling.

RIP Shannen Doherty. What sad news to see so early in the day. My 1990s teen heart is broken :(

I'm team Brenda for life. 90210 wasn't the same after Brenda departed for London, the 30th anniversary of was in May.

It's a little surreal that both Shannen Doherty and Luke Perry are no longer with us.

I know Shannen's career spanned numerous roles but to me she will forever be Brenda Walsh.

Heartbroken. We all knew this was coming sooner rather than later, but she was so active right up until the end with the podcast and attending conventions. She was scheduled for 90s con in September. :(

RIP Shannen.

Aaron Spelling had a knack for casting these women who seem like they have a steel wire running through them. They were never dull, and always gave compelling, interesting performances even when the script was subpar. Shannen was one. Kate Jackson is another. And Pamela Sue Martin is a third. In all three cases, the actresses didn’t stay for the full run of their series, and those shows were never the same without them.

I parallel Pamela Sue Martin departure from Dynasty to Shannen Doherty departure from 90210. After their respective departures the cast dynamics were off on both shows and both shows were never the same, despite Dynasty lasting 5 more seasons and even having a season at #1 and 90210 lasting 6 more seasons. Fun fact, their departures are separated by 10 years 16 days (Dynasty season 4 finale May 9, 1984 and 90210 season 4 finale May 25, 1994).

@te., thanks for uploading that video of Brenda and Dylan.

I bought the first two seasons of Beverly Hills 90210 on DVD when the series was first released.

It was a big, big, BIG mistake giving away all my VHS tapes in favor of the DVDs.

The discs were horrible quality; episodes missing scenes and all the original music replaced by elevator-like muzak, which completely destroyed the tone and feeling of the show. Without REM's Losing My Religion, the scene you uploaded here was emotionally empty.

Now I research DVDs thoroughly before I buy them, and if the original soundtrack has been cut and replaced, I won't buy them.

Tour of Duty and the original Roswell were two more TV series ruined or at least seriously damaged by music changes when they came to DVD.
