Members a2sassy
Was that supposed to be "acting"? Because all I saw was this thing in blue fur screeching like a fool.
Members DaytimeFan
See this is the problem with LML and her hack writing team: there is no pay off to a single one of her stories! She just drags sh*t out for 2 years. People gave Kay Alden crap for taking her time with a storyline: she took 6 months whereas LML takes 2 years! I like Judith Chapman and can't help but feel sorry for her because she's been given pathetic material to work with. She and Jill should be major rivals and yet that storyline just seems to have been dropped hard. Finally, with LML's hopeful ouster on the rise I don't think scab writers will be following her projections, rather the show will go into a holding pattern where not much will really happen until the strike is over and a new writer is installed. Griffith will attempt to make it watchable, we'll have to see if he succeeds.
Members Reddi
QUOTE (Chris B @ Dec 7 2007, 10:20 AM) David's story with Dru was a flop, now his relationship with Nikki. David's story with Dru was cut short (and probably changed) due to Victoria Rowell's quitting the show. The character was not really given much story from then until now, except to cause difficulty between Nikki and Victor. If they give him some development and backstory, he would be an asset to the show. I especially like the potential in his enmity with Victor. Heck, Jack and Victor might even team up to oppose David. I rather like him with Nikki, despite my (having been) a Nikki/Victor fan (Victoris such an ass right now I can't root for V/N at this point). mcdeare said: Yup! hi mcdeare At first, I thought the OP was quoting SOD, and thus thought this was post-contract news, but I checked the mag today and it's obvious that was not the case. There is no mention of his re-signing in SOD at all, so this must have gone to press before he re-signed. Probably things were uncertain when he was in negotiations, but now it's worked out. I hope they give David some development and bring out more about his past, now that he's committed for at least a year. As much as I loved his character on AMC, I'd not wish him back there ... not until that show undergoes serious repair and probably a major regime change! Members Chris B
Reddi, to quote the fab DeeeDee: Why should they keep giving a failed character chance after chance? Nobody is interested in David Chow. There have been great actors who just don't work on certain soaps. It doesn't mean they aren't talented, just that they aren't right for that particular show. If viewers wanted to see more of him, they'd say so like they have for Tammy Lauren, Eric Steinberg, Emily O'Brien and many others.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I might be in the minority, but Tammy Lauren and Emily O'Brien also annoy the hell out of me, though not as much as Vincent Irrizary on this show. I like Billy Warlock as Ben, maybe because he seems to be the only positive influence in Jack's life and career.

Members mcdeare
Hi, Reddi! Yep, that's exactly what must have happened. SOD went to press before VI's contract was finalized. And since LML and the writers are on strike, this came down from Sony, which is even better. I'm thrilled to know David will be around another year. Now they just need to fill in his back story and pump up his airtime. So far David is an intriguing character IMO. I've loved David's chemistry with Nikki, although I was surprised by the pairing at first. Nikki has become a new woman in recent months, and David has had much to do with it IMO. I've become an avid MTS fan. Almost all of the acting on Y&R is stellar. I would also like to see a true rivalry between Victor and David. David appears to be just as tough as Victor. Also as wily. LOL. And VI & EB are both excellent when going up against each other. IA about VI and AMC. As much as I loved DH, ABC is going in a different direction. Y&R loves their vets, who drive most of the major storylines. It's the thing I love most about the show. Here's hoping we have a good 2008 with David & Y&R! Members DeeeDee
When did Y&R become a haven for mistreated actors & actresses from other soaps?

Members sheilaforever
Ashley is really bringing me back a Y&R viewer. I’m gonna watch those episodes. I’ll be probably ff-ing everything else and still be pissed about how sh*tty Y&R has become but hey, I’ll be watching for three days again... BTW: What I heard of Ashleys return which is gonna air right around New Years Eve and lasts 3 episodes, it's about John's will. So much for Glo getting busted; she'll gain the upperhand again because Jack is gonna deep fry come Jan 01, 2008...
Members sheilaforever
Amen! Just think of the sh*tty wiritng Emily ‘Brian received and then tell me VI has suffered bad writing and therefore failed... *rollseyes* His Genoa City acting AND character both suck a lot. Members Faulkner
As much as I like VI as an actor, he's kind of gotten into a rut. The last three characters he's played on daytime have all been variations of the hyper-entitled pampered professional. The funny thing is that Vincent has a great earthy, ethnic accent, which you can see in his work as Lujack on GL back in the '80s. He should play a New York street tough or something.
