Little surprised that Y&R didn't do better but the collapse storyline didn't start until Friday so maybe that is why. Congrats to B&B and Days for being the only soaps to rise!! Both had really good weeks and are becoming the shows to watch, IMHO.

And congrats to AMC for continuing to suck!! McTavish might was well have stayed on the show because B&E are continuing down the same path she was on. I wonder if Frons is going to fire them if sweeps goes badly, not that it will make any difference. Maybe Carruthers needs to be replaced too. Something needs to be done or else AMC will be tied with Days for last place. With ABC's declining daytime line-up, maybe Frons will be fired soon. One can only hope that he would get replaced with someone with half a brain who really cares about the genre.

The daily ratings are rounded to one decimal place but when figuring the ratings for the week they are not rounded. For example M-F of last week, GL could have gotten 1.75, 1.95, 1.95, 2.15 and 1.75 which equates to a rating of 1.91.

I really hope that the CBS soaps continue to remain strong or even rise. It will certainly be a positive sign for soaps proving that they continue to do fairly well. I wonder if a lot of the ABC audience is switching over to CBS like I have. And if ABC soaps continue to decline while CBS rises, then Frons would have to be replaced. If ABC starts to focus on vets and quality writing, maybe their ratings will start to go back up and they can regain some of the audience that they have lost.

I would think that if ATWT continues to do well and stays in third/fourth place, it will have an extremely good chance at being renewed another year.

Okay...maybe I'm stupid, but still confused.

Why does DAYS get to round up and GL does not get to round up? Either way GL still had more viewers for the week, but according to my math both DAYS & GL had a 1.96 for the week. Why does DAYS rating read 2.0 and GL's a 1.9? I'm confused!

I am ecstatic about B&B. It's great they hit a 3.0 again. Y&R should go up with the Out of the Ashes event, but with the Southern California fires who know's what next week will look like. ABCD had a terrible week. ATWT only had Luke and Noah on once last week so I barely watched. Also, as pissed off as I am with Days I am happy for the increase and the fans of the show I know will be delighted by that.

all those ratings suck, pretty bad that days of our lives is only 3 away from 3rd place and they are next to last. If days can continue this, they would get up there.

one thing MORE NICK AND CHELSEA.

what the hell going on with general hospital. I am loving all the storys now. especially the battle between trevor and sonny.

    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 I just loved Valerie on my early '90s TV shows. This one gets me.
    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.
